I'm not yet familiar to my second hand car (suzuki esteem). Para sa akin okey ang "bounce" nya (lubak and uneven road) since 2 weeks ko pa lang sya hawak (sanay ako sa fx lang). When my friend tried to test drive the Esteem, wala daw "bounce" or matigas ang shock sa harapan. Dapat daw may konting play.

From the service record, all the 4 shocks (gas) were replaced last June 2002 by GM Autoworld (CASA). I'm not sure kung original shock or replacement na lang. Pero mahal sya...5K+ ang isa. Then october 2002 all the 4 tires were replaced by Falken (185 60 R14). Again it's the standard tire size.

The manual specified the McPherson type daw ung suspension system.

Now may question is....talaga bang matigas ang gas shock? is there a way para magkatroon ng play?

By the way, ano ang difference ng "strut" at shock absorber.
    Tulong naman... thanks

not harsh ride, but handling improved

Strut refers to the whole assy (shocks and coil spring), while shocks refers to the shock absorber itself. hth.

Im gonna try Rancho fluid shocks next time.

    Cale,

Dude, your bilsteins are soft? Whats the color of the Cylinder casing? Is it blue/yellow or silver? Ive heard that bilsteins are one of the stiffest around :D

AFAIK, whether it be gas or fluid, what will make a difference in the comfort would be the damping rates... Most gas shocks we have here locally are OEM replacement on the damping rates, thus this is why the comfort should not really vary much. I do prefer gas shocks over fluids as well.

May "bouncing" feel pa ba yun or you have to wait for sometime para maramdaman yun?

I'd want to go for Gas for durability pero magiging hesitant ako kung nde naman ako comfortable sa loob.

Sensya na baka exaggerated naman ako. I may have understood it wrongly. I will appreciate any corrections.

gas shocks like KYB'S are not REALLY BOUNCY.hindi naman matagtag like that of PUTOL SPRINGS na talagang scrambbled eggs ang kalalabasan mo.

gas shocks are stiff-ER but not really STIFF.

I am using gas shocks sa front(Tokico) and rear(KYB) with matching H&R okay naman sya 2 " drop pa.

hello, have a gen3 paj. and plan to go Bilsteins sana. (coz I love my car and want the best parts for it) hehe. also hoping to have a more luxurious ride quality.

    Questions po:

1)significant ba ang change? and is it worth it? or Ok na ang stock indy suspension ng New Paj?
2)Do I have to change my springs? what brand?

So performance and comfort ba e hindi pwede mag mix?

    thanks po

BTW, napanood nyo ba sa rides yung bagong technology na shocks. liquid metal. hehe. parang metal powder in oil yata yun. pag minagnetize, titigas, then pag tinanggal yung magnetism, flows like water! astig.
