Need help with my Local Honda jazz 1.3 .
yung brakes pag kaka start parang walang brakes. and even after running parang di kumakagat ang feeling mo parang nakapatay yung makina when you step on the brakes ganun kalakas preno niya.
    what could be the problem.

anybody encountered this with their Honda jazz?

pinalitan na Brake master and yung isa pa na nag cocontrol ng hangin?
but still the same any ideas?

ask your mechanic to check the brake pedal free play. baka masyadong maliit.

Possible vacuum problem.. check vacuum hose for cracks or leaks.. possible you need to replace your brake booster (the big black drum)

ah the decades old problem with the brakemaster and hydrovac.
if your mechanic adjusted the pushrod that is located between the hydrovac and the brakemaster, you are looking at something which will give you a big headache. (this pushrod should NEVER be touched!)
Filter your problem first, if you replaced your hydrovac with a surplus or a non-OEM brndnew one, they can also be defective in the first place or your vacuum hoses or the 1-way valve (locd between your intake manifod and hydrovac is shot and needs to be replaced)...
    do update us...

some cars' brake pushrods have provision for adjustment, because replacement masters are not perfect clones of each other. what the mechanic should do, is test the system after installation, to determine if adjustment is necessary.
it is really easy to adjust it to the correct placement. one has but to know how.
i know. because i used to do it (in my youth).

i agree with that dr. d. but adjusting the pushrod between the hydrovac and the master (which is factory preset and adjusted to its specific brake master) needs a special tool measuring device which most mech dont have. the measurement varies kasi once the engine is running and the hydrovac is on vacuum. the pushrod behind (between the pedal and the hydrovac) is the one to be adjusted. that is why if you mix and match a different hydrovac and a brake master, these problems arise almost immediately or at the latent part of its service life which is usually premature. A plethora of unwanted S/S usually are like what the TS start, sticking brakes, etc, etc. hehe

I've been also doing these as i am an avid offroader, but the easiest and most reliable solution is to place back the OEM or 1 full set of hydrovac and its proper brakemaster.....

    First,
Check the engine vacuum- it should be between 17- 21 inHg if your engine is not:

LIVC or Atkinson engine or late intake valve closing, or

    Supercharged air induction, or

    Turbochaged air induction.

If the vacuum gauge reading is low, check the valve timing, the timing belt might have skipped or stretched. Check ignition timing, if it's late the vacuum reading will be low and the brake assist will be weak.
