Thursday Last week along NLEX, nag wheel lock (front only) ako sa grabeng braking. Siguro nasa more than 3 meters ang skid mark (dahil sa di ko nakita, it could be longger). But I think di pa na reach ang wear marker. So when I hit 60 Kph, may konting vibration. (Now almost wala na)

Are my front tires still safe or should I change them. BTW, tire milage is 17,000 Km+.

Stock tires, 185/70/R14. Dunlop SR 10. (am not sure on exact mode number)

I think what you now have is a 'flat spot'. It should return to normal in a short period of time.

sir mel, that was a close call! buti nalang nothing happened

"flat spot" pala ang tawag duon.

Yup it was really a close call.

if your current tires still have their threads on, hindi pa kailangan.

Sir meledson * yup it was a flat spot... you need to do some wheel balancing, because of un even wear.. to bring back the normal wheel rotation...

whoo that was holy thursday buti nasa 80 lang at nothing terrible happened.
minsan what you did is right but those coming behind ay hindi kaya madalas grabe. buti na lang.

imo it's time na rin for rotation yan at 17K kms. you may put it in a cross or you can include the spare- placing it to your front left.

Any way, I estimate na late April or early May 20,000 Km PMS ko na, time for tire rotation. If budget would allow, I will buy a new pair of tires before mag tag ulan.

Thanks for the very nice advices. :D

When you get vibrations at higher speeds on flat highways it's a good idea to check if your tires need to be changed.

I had the same symptoms on my old car five years ago. After balancing and wheel alignment the shaking didn't go away...it was only after I changed rubber that it went away completely.

Should I change tires?
