CV joint and bearing maintenance

hi,

is cv joint and bearing repacking a preventive maintenance? the boots and bands are ok as well as the bearings, but i was just wondering is it a good practice to replace the grease inside? if so, what recommended intervals?

regular greasings lang yan, although its not a guarantee. its a moving part eh.
have it checked every six months.
