Solex spare tire lock for Pickups

sino na nakagamit ng ganito? effective ba? P760.00 sa megamall solex brand. Meron sa Carry boy same type of lock pero sobra mahal 1.7k daw

Welcome to the club. I also experienced that before.

I'm now using a SOLEX hard lock and Master Lock steel cable (plastic coated)... good combo. You can check them out at the locks section of an MC Home Depot. Set aside around P1K that.

Both on van and pickup.

I use two bike locks (yale, master) and placed a plastic bag on the locks to protect in from dust and water. It would be more difficult when I need to used it and the locks won't open

Yep, hindi kasing-mahal pero effective. Been using these eversince nung kasikatan pa ng L300 van.

Thanks for the added suggestion guys.

Dati yung sotckmags nya yung 15" with 31x10.5 for 2000 strada. Nagpalit sya nung 20003 6spoke strada mags with Bridgstone Dueler A/T tires.

loop it around the tire and chassis twice.

The Solex lock i have is weather proof (had t on for two year na and no rust or stuck-ups)... I just clean it around twice a year.

Yung all-weather padlock walang springs sa loob, twist the key and pull out the lock body. Madali nga masira ang padlock pag may springs.

These thieves are clever. Even without the rod thats needed to hoist the spare down kaya nila nakawin. Their style is to take out all the air from your spare and unhook the "t" from the magwheels and there goes your spare.

now that you've mentioned it...I just remembered that I haven't replaced my locks for the spare!

ok din yan Solex lock pre pero i suggest you use Chain lang and Abloy Locks na Stainless (Springless) w/c doesn't get stucked.

Look for the all-weather locks are harder as well... they can easily break the regular locks IMO.

Kung sa chain, thats why i got the Masterlock Chain with coating... no problemo sa kalawang and its also claimed to be harder to cut.

is this the same masterlock chain used for bikes? hindi ba nadudumihan ng sobra? I'll be using it in my pickup.

Sa mga naka Expe na luma, dali nakawin spare tire nyo, the gap between the bumper and the rear tailgate is large enough to insert a 1/2 inch rod to safely lower the spare tire. May client kami dita nanakawan sya, the only trace of entry was light scuffs dun sa edge ng tailgate.

Silipin nyo yung butas where you insert the rod sa expe, kitang kita.

:bwahaha:

Re. Masterlock Chain: Somewhat similar but the get the one with a bigger size( Length and diameter) and without a built-in lock (yung pang bike ang may built-in lock).
