Guys this is my problem. Nung pauwi kami from work nung malapit na sa bahay may naririnig ako squeaking sounds sa hood. I checked it agad tapos malapit yung sound sa engine. Naghanap kagad ako ng mechanic shop then sabi power steering bearing daw kelangan na palitan. The next day pina check ko sa ibang shop tapos habang tinitingnan nila kung ano problem biglang namatay ung koche. Btw, its a Honda City type z. Tinanggal nila yung belt sa power steering pump, sabi ng mechanic sira na daw. Wasak wasak na daw yung sa loob non at kelangan na palitan. We bought a surplus lang dahil ang original non is 24-30k. Grabe ang mahal sa ganon ka liit na pyesa. Pinalitan na din mga belt and a new fluid na din. Then ok naman sya pauwi no sound and walang problem sa steering. The next day, pag start ko. Parang maingay yung pump pero minimal sound lang. Tapos when I steered it left and right parang medyo tumigas ung steering and may ugong akong naririnig. Tapos ung isang hose hinawakan ko, while my bro is steering it from left to right. Parang pwersado and yung pump ay maingay. And may leak akong nakita that morning, I think galing nga yun sa pump. Mga experts naman dyan patulong, do i need to replace the new pump? Or ano kaya problem non? Patulong mga sir and mam. Salamat!

your "mechanic" might have used other than honda/acura compatible power steering fluid. he might not have bled the system too. to bleed the system, unload the front tires (off the ground). while supported by jackstands, steer right to left without having to the extreme right or extreme left, you can hear the pressure relief valve when you have reached extreme, repeat procedure until the noise is gone. watch out for foaming in the reservoir too. if there is foaming, rest the system until the p/s fluid is clear.

curious lang sir ako.. sira na daw yung pump and, according to your mechanic, wasak wasak na?
honestly, i think yung mechanic dapat ang pinalitan mo
with my little knowledge sa steering pump, wala pa ako nakita na nawasak loob ng pump itself except dun sa seals o bearing, but pwede naman ireplace those parts. mga masters, paki correctnlang ako...
anyways, pag squeeking sound, mas madalas fluid o belt ang problem, hindi yung pump.
1. for belt, maluwag kabit o hindi tama ang tension.. pag bago belt, dapat i readjust to spec yung tension after few km run otherwise mag slip yung belt at madali masisira dahil sa init..
2. for fluid, pag kulang or me hangin yung system, meron sound din madidinig.
kung ok yung level ng fluid but meron pa din, meron hangin pumapasok and the best thing to do is replace yung O-ring ng pump... ito ang madalas na problema ng honda pump, o-ring lang... kaya pag nakatyempo ka ng magaling na machanic (magaling mag interest para meron mabenta sa iba) sasabihin na sira na yung pump but actually isa o dalawang o-ring lang papalitan.. ang madalas na symptom nito ay may too much bubbles sa reservoir. of course, pag kulang o me hangin yung system, mabigat i steer yung wheel...
sana mali ang hinala ko...

April 17th, 2011 07:38 PM #10mine problem in power steering gear box ay may leak. so pinalitan namin ng trusted mechanic ng oil seal (tawag nun) , when we drive the car biglang titigas ung monobela. tapos pinalitan namin ng surplus power steering gear box. mas malakas ung leak. so ginawa namin. we use the old power steering gear box, problem is may leak . pero telorable, i always the reservoir every morning kung mayroon. hindi naman masyado malakas. right now i tried to use the power steering sealer by respetable brand (i forgot the name) hope it will lessen the leak
do you have any idea where can i buy 2003 trooper local edition power steering gear box? recommended place? na reliable. thanx
