If the car is uneven, left-to-right, that's a possible sign of chassis damage from a previous accident.
If the rear is too low, you may have gotten springs for the Nissan Sentra sedan instead of the California wagon... the Sentra has a lighter rear end, and the spring rates may be too low.
Don't ever cut your springs. It may be workable as a temporary solution, but it provides for unsafe handling, allows the shocks to bottom out, and will eventuall destroy your suspension.
If you have the right springs (California-specific, not California/Sentra) I'd suggest adding a small amount of lifter in the rear and seeing if you can beat out the damage in the front mount that's out of line. If you don't have the right springs, see if you can enact an exchange at the shop, first.
