squeaking sound only when depress the brake pedal.

hey! tsikot guys, i'm newbie here. ask ko lang what would be the problem about squeaking break. as i mentioned only when i depress the brake pedal. i've tried to change my front brake pads a week ago but still can hear the sound. really annoying. actually even b4 changing the front brake pads i can hear the pissing sound i assumed baka manipis na yung brake pad sa harap so i did changed it but still der. can't say on rear brake pads coz it's laso new. am sure nasa harap nanggagaling yung squeaking sound.

what would be the culprit? need your advise peeps.

Sa disc brakes eto yung goma na pumipigil ng brake fluids para di mabasa ang exposed side ng piston sa disc pads. Sa drums naman, ang brake repair kit ay ang goma na nasa makabilang gilid ng brake cylinder. Kung sira ito tatagas ang brake fluids papunta sa contact area ng brake pads/shoe that could cause squeaking sounds while braking.

UNGAS, i will bring my unit to shell where it was changed my disc pad. around what cost kya nito in case may tagas nga yung brake repair kit? or kasama pa ba sa warranty since last week lang kinabit?

Baka di na i-acknowledge yung warranty nyan kung last week pa ginawa. Mura lang mga repair kits ranging from 300-1400 per set.

Kung suspect mo front discs ang mag ingay, self-adjusting ang caliper brakes. There's no way to adjust it except for the extra shims on the pads that came with it. Sa likod madali lang sikipan or luwagan ang adjuster ng drum brakes.

are the rotors still fine? minsan nag co-cause den ng ingay yan. lalo na kung may alon alon na yan.

ungas, that means paluwagan ko yung caliper? or really buy repair kit? cenya na po dami tanong.

spazzkid, rotors was replaced (OEM) last dec. 2002.

Kung papayag ka na magbayad ulit para sa labor, total babaklasin din naman yung caliper set, para matanggal ang extra shims. Mas maigi pang bumili ka na at papalitan mo na tuloy yung brake repair kits. Para iwas abala sa susunod.

Kung kasama naman ang labor pati sa likod i-adjust ng tama at pantay. Kung san mas makapal ang brake shoe dun hihigpitan, at luwagan ng kaunti sa mas manipis. Sabay check sa goma ng brake cylinder kung may tagas na fluid sa naka brake drums ang likod.

Maninibago ka sa umpisa, all your brakes will have to set in first for a few kilometers. Tignan tuloy kung may kabig sa ginawang adjustments.

O nga pala naalala ko, don't forget to re-adjust your hand brakes kung kasama sa rear brake system ito. 5-7 clicks should be fine.

guys pansin ko lang.. yun kasing pajero din ng erpats ko ganun din maingay specially pag pababa tapos pag break mo errrk.. errrkk may lumalabas na tunog.. ganun din sa pajero ko.. maingay din.. kala ko nga kailangan na patingnan ng break ko.. pero when i experienced the same thing sa pajero ni erpats... hinayaan ko na yung maingay pag full pressed yung break..

is this normal ? bago po pajero ni erpats...

usually, SOP ang pa reface ng rotor pag ni-replace ang brake pads. check if there are color black marks around the rotor and try to touch the rotor if there are uneven deep grooves. pag meron, reface na yan.

ungas, i brought my unit to casa since d na valid yung warranty nung ibinalik ko sa shell. and to make sure what is really the culprit no thinking twice CASA na agad ko dinala besides dun na rin ako for PMS service pinatingin ko na rin. knowing na maayos na but then wala pang 1km squeaking sound meron pa rin. so i ask my service advisor he told to change my disc pad to another brand coz im currently using BENDIX standard theres nothing they can do about it wala naman daw silang makitang possible panggagalingan ng ingay kundi sa pad na gamit ko matigas raw talaga and brand ng BENDIX try using another brand except bendix. to think CASA na yun but still im not convince with their assumption. sayang lang binayad ko 600php w/out any changes. napansin ko pala meron parang inaply na powder dun sa outer side ng disc pad para san yun e wala rin namang saysay dahil dun pa rin ingay. naisip ko tuloy kaya nilagyan nun para masabi lang sa kin na may ginawa sila. 600php is 600php hirap atang kitain yun.

tama kaya yung CASA na sa brake pad na bendix ang sanhi ng squeaking sound. pls. convince me more..

til now hinayaan ko na lng yung ingay and still annoyed me.

io think tama yung sa casa, i already clean the cylinder, and check the calipers..ok pa lahat...sabi rin nung shop na pinag-bilhin baka raw nasa breakpad..may nabibiling pang-spray sa break pad, special lubricant ito...try mo sa concorde megamall

i have the same problem before with my corolla gli. i had my brake pads changed in shell with bendix, then after that i can always hear that annoying squeaking sound every time i step in my brakes. i also tried using those 3M high power brake sprays that supposedly could lessen the squeaking sounds but to no avail. i brought back my ride in shell but they said it is really a problem of using replacement pads. i just let weeks passed but then after 3 weeks, i can hear no more squeaking sounds whenever i brake. i think you just let your new brake pads get used for 2-3 weeks then try to observe if the noise still continues.

rapeez::: Marami na pong users ng Bendix but they never had that problem. Kung walang tagas sa brake linings, at pantay naman ang disc rotors. You have no other choice but to sswitch to another brand. Btw, it might help if you switch back to oe pads.

Wala bang anti brake squeel compound diyan sa pinas? There's got to be a product like this or similar available over there. You spray this on to the back of the pads, not the side touching the rotors. Malagkit ito pag natuyo so careful not to get it on the rotors, if you do, clean it off with brake cleaner. It's suppose to dampen the high frequency vibration that you hear as squeel. Works everytime I use it. Never had any squeel on any of my vehicles.

jorebo, actually there are so many kind of anti-brake squeel here but to no avail it seems not working though. if you can recommend which brand you are currently using. hopefully meron brand nito sa pinas.

ganyan din paje ko, squeaking sound pag malapit na mag full stop. pero pag mabilis then brake wala naman. pinatingin ko narin sa mechanic sabi nila yung bake pads daw kasi semi metallic pero orig stock ko pa yung pads and makapal pa daw. welcome more suggestions thanks.
