i've used monroe on our mazda 323 and lancer before, ok naman. it is one of the more popular replacement shocks out there.
They've been around for a loooong time.

:funa:
Yan yung ginagamit namin noon sa mga passenger jeepneys ni erpat, just don't know if todays quality is the same.
batosai,
monroes just like most shock absorbers which have been in the market are okay to use. there are usually two numbers such as 70/30. the first number represents the ratio of compression energy in relation to extension energy requirements. the higher the first number is, the stiffer it is. if your ride is a cadillac or continental, the first number will be lower, say 60 and of course the second number will be 40....
they come in nitro charged (pneudraulic) and regular hydraulic. how can you tell the difference? the gas charged unit comes collapsed with a binder plastic strip or wire. be careful when releasing this s/a. release upright as i it were installed so you don't need to bleed it. the regular hydraulic ones usually requires to be bled. check installation instructions in the box. failure to bleed regular s/a will result in poor performance.
jick
I remember nun 1982 nun bata pa akokalalabas lang ng new assembled jeepney namin. Monroe ang shock absorber nun. It comes in Yellow or white color. Kung sa durability eh okey tlaga imagine ka-bad ng road condition nun samin..tsk. Thru the years yun lagi brand na yan ang pinapalit ng father ko. So I vote na durable tlaga sya.

Kadalasan sa mga off Road vehicle gamit nila ito . Maganda at matibay .
I'm looking for monroe reflex shocks. do you know where to get this?
we're using Monroe Gas shocks on our L300 vans. mabigat parati karga ng mga vans namin.
last we checked, ok pa. 4years na namin gamit. nung KYB, less than 2 years sira na. might be bad batch lang yung nakuha namin.
you can get it here:

sir, nasa Masangkay parin sila. just passed by there the other day and saw the signage and may mga new stickers pa sila sa pinto nila.
yung naka-kabit sa L300 namin now is gas shocks ng Monroe, if im not mistaken, color dark blue siya, around 900+ per shock 3-4 years ago.

Monroe is a very good brand. I remembered this was used by my father for his old Ford cars (Falcon, Fairlane, Cortinas).
And these cars were used to running on dirt roads (they were all around back then) and never gave in.
