Well, there will still be buyers. Globally, it’s around 15% for the XT, 5% for the manual, and 5% for the diesel model for the SJ platform. Most Foresters in the global market uses the bigger 2.5L NA engine.
No guarantees that the eBoxer will do well in sales but it is Subaru’s commitment to helping in lowering emissions.

Where'd you get the 15% global number?
The US, which is Subaru's biggest market, has the turbo at 5%. Less than 10% in Australia. All of Europe's sales for a year is less than 1 month's worth of sales in the US. PH was relatively high at 30% but our weighted impact to the global average is so small.
A niche variant (FXT) for a niche brand (Subaru) is already too small to make economic sense. Which is why Fozzy decided to go maintstream and all-out family car with the new one since that's the biggest market for it.
If they lose 30% sales in the Philippines but gain an additional 10% in the US, that's a super good deal for them.
