Noticed there is no dedicated thread for Subaru Eyesight so ---

Just sharing how it performs in bumper-to-bumper EDSA traffic

This is part 2 of 4 videos -- but sharing this one here because this is where I start completely not touching the throttle or the brakes, this continues until part 3. I was completely relaxed for this stretch of road.

Car model is the '18 XV, but this should show how it works for other models as well.

Settings: Acceleration at ECO/1, follow distance set to 1 bar.

It drives smooth, does not aggressively brake or accelerate at this setting.

Just search "Eyesight EDSA" for the others.

What does this eyesight exactly do? Very clear shot btw.

Thanks! Camera used is an SJCAM SJ4000.

The car stops, accelerates and speed-matches on its own. It looks like I am driving normally, but I am just sitting and steering while resting my foot. Well, at least in the posted video, next/other vids I take over for a few seconds to change lanes etc. Majority of my trip though I can rest my foot.

    Very cool.

It's like a cruise control in traffic.

Does the Subaru Forester have the same rear vehicle detection and reverse automatic braking as the Subaru XV? Does the Subaru XV have rear cross traffic alert?

Ganito behavior nya pag may sumingit -- defensive driver pag di mo ginalaw (see at minute 9:13):
    https://youtu.be/9ss6I-VZ-Gw?t=9m13s

Pero, you can tap the throttle din to defend your lane. Pwede kayo sabay nun adaptive cruise control at times, so pwede mo isara yun lane mo.
Then, auto-off sya pag tinapakan mo brake --> back to normal driving, so if gitgitan mode na automatic din pag take-over.

Hindi sya meters e -- more like 1 bar = 1 second away yun nasa harap, 2 bars = 2 seconds away --- and so on.
(As in 1/2/3 seconds away bago mo mabanga if bigla preno)

So pag mabagal pwede less than 1 car length, pag mabilis automatic nag aadjust. Hindi to sakto ha, eto yun estimate ko.

Ahh variable sya sa speed, importante it worked sa edsa and pinoy drivers.

Do you think it's worth the added expense, of having the EyeSight versus just getting the Premium which is essentially the same car minus the EyeSight?

Yes, especially if you drive longer than 1hr per byahe. Malaking bagay yun pwede ka magpahinga ng legs safely using adaptive cruise sa traffic ng pinas. I've been using cguro 3-4x a week since I bought April this year, almost never used for the 1st hour, pero 1.5? 2nd? 3rd hr pa minsan? Gamit na gamit.

If may daily route ka, masasanay ka na may stretch of road inaabangan mo na gamitin. 5 mins dito, 20 mins doon okay lang agawan ka lane ng kalaban paminsan minsan kasi relax lang paa.

Then added bonus, safer sa biglang harang or tawid sa harap mo. Never pa naman ako na override ng brake, pero good to know anjan lang palagi. Additional peace of mind din if may iba gumagamit or gamit ng mahal mo, alam mo less chances ma disgrasya.

Eyesight (3 cameras) on the Subaru XV 2.0 i.s. Eyesight.

    4 safety features:

    - adaptive cruise control

    - lane sway and departure warning system

    - pre-collision braking system

    - pre-collision throttle management
