CJ-4 na Mobil and true fully synthetic yan versus others na highly refined group III base oils. So yes, IMHO and based on my research sa net, much better Mobil 1 TDT vs. Motulr CRDi Specific.

Mga sirs, good afternoon po. Sory po kung now lang nagparamdam, have been super busy as a full time mommy while hubby is away. Ask lang for help, my ride is strada 2010 3.2 gls 4x4 a/t. I opted to have my 20k oil change out of casa since its quite expensive. Problem ko po as i back read the thread, 5w-40 or 15w-40 pala dapat ang ilagay na engine oil. Nailagay ng shell station eh 5w-30 na ultra e fully synthetic. I have found out this only the other day when i was checking on my receipts. they thought mine is a gas engine. I have gone back to them and they explained na ok daw po ito pang diesel din daw and I can come back to them if there's any problem till i reached the next 10k. I tried to ask mitsu marcos-hiway ok din daw ito. I am still uncomfortable, malaking problem po ba ito. I am planning to go north with my kids this sem break and am really scared kung titirik ako sa nlex or sctex. I am not familiar talaga with handling this. what should i do. should i go back to casa? would they void my warranty if ever i would tell this to them? my orig casa is in citi-alabang. Hope you could really help, you're the gurus and i highly respect your advices, thanks po in advance.
Ito ba siya sir? Shell Helix Ultra - Philippines
IMHO ok naman yan since andyan na. Pero I strongly suggest to have it changed at 5,000 kms or 3 months at the most sir. Nakalagay na puwede naman sa diesel engines, but rated CF only. CRDi are much more demanding kasi. The oil will breakdown faster vs a CH-4/CI-4/CI+-4/CJ-4 API rated oil.
In the aboce PH website, there no indicated API CF rating but here it has so puwede naman. I currently use Shell Helix HX7 din naman for the 4m40 and no problems so far (2 change oils already, pang-linis lang since yan specialty niyan) but I'm gonna switch to Mobil 1 TDT 5w40. Auto-Rx (Philippines) | About Oil
In the end, if you can afford it, changed it to a multigrade diesel specific oil as soon as 3,000 kms IMO. And don't tell the casa about this na lang po sir. The 30 rating is just to thin and will degrade fast kasi. But hindi ka ititirk niyan for sure.Have peace of mind sir.

Thanks po sir Ry_Tower! Correction lang po sir, wifey po ako
Correct po its from Shell- Shell Helix Ultra E.
This info really had my mind clarified. Pwede po ba gamitin ung Shell Helix HX7 din on my 3k oil change? Then tama po ba after this, 10k or 5k change oil uli if Mobil 1 TDT gamitin ko? I'll have it changed to the casa na, kasi i dont have any idea on a reliable place do my pms as i only know how to drive. Theres a year left pa kasi din for my warranty to expire.
Thanks a lot ulit po.....![]()
I'd suggest you use the Shell helix Diesel HX7 on your next oil change and then if the casa you are gonna bring your ride for PMS allows you to bring your own oil, then the Mobil 1 TDT is indeed good. Again, in choosing you're oil, it's a matter of what fits you're budget and what condition your ride is operating at. Just choose a good and reliable, easy to purchase oil with at least a API CH-4 or up rating. Multigrade are cheaper but if you're gonna change oil every 3 months or 5,000kms whichever comes first then its ok. If you're gonna reach 5,000kms in 6 months or more, I suggest you use a semi-synthetic oil. If under extreme load and severe service usage, then a fully syn like Mobil 1 TDT is ideal.
Some good oil that is easy to buy are already in the auto-rx site i gave out, just pick which one you want.
Sorry for the miscom maam. hehe

Hi there. I am a newbie strada and diesel owner. One week pa lang.
Meron bang thread on common issues or problem ng strada.
This will help me see and notice the signs and symptoms para sa pms.
Salamat ng marami.
ingat lang sa pag pili ng oil. HX7 is only CF rated. Vehicles with EGR system should choose CI-4 rated oils. it fouls the EGR valve pag maling rating ng oil yung gamit.
CI-4 : Introduced in 2002 for high-speed four-stroke engines. Designed to meet 2004 exhaust emission standards implemented in 2002. CI-4 oils are formulated to sustain engine durability where exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is used and are intented for use with diesel fuels ranging in sulphur content up to 0.5% weight. Can be used in place of CD, CE, CF-4, CG-4 and CH-4

just take note that that post is from three years ago.
sadly, some of it still persists
and one that i can think of that is missing from that post is the actuator issue
