A SUPER car for a super fighter.
Boxing star Manny Pacquiao now drives a Porsche Cayenne around Los Angeles.
"I bought it in cash," the Filipino fighter said yesterday during a break in his training at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.
It was not clear whether the brand-new SUV he purchased was the 4.5-liter 450-horsepower V8 that has a tag price of ,000 or the lower trim versions that range from ,000 (3.2-liter 247-hp V6) to ,000 (4.5-liter 340-hp V8).
"It’s a nice car," said Pacquiao of the German-made five-seater that he picked to replace the seven-seater Lincoln Navigator that he acquired early last year.
It’s not clear, though, what has become of the gas-guzzling, bronze-colored Navigator that was his service vehicle whenever he’s in town for fights and during brief visits as it was bought using a third party.
In the Philippines, Pacquiao owns a Ford Expedition, Mitsubishi Pajero V6, Honda CRV, Toyota pickup and a Lincoln Continental Mark III....

I hope Manny wins this time. Not only for honor but also for money, lots of it. He's got a lot of unnecessary cost expenses!

January 6th, 2006 09:28 AM #5tingin ko talo pa rin. i'm no boxing expert, pero tingin ko kasi the mexicans'(barrera, morales) counterpunching, while not as exciting to watch, effectively neutralizes him. i.e. defend defend muna while pacquiao's swinging, then start punching once he runs out of steam.
unless pacquiao changes his style, which i imagine would be hard for any boxer, i don't think he'll win.
for his sake though, i hope he invests his money wisely. there's not too many job options for former boxers, world champion or not.

January 6th, 2006 10:14 AM #6one of the reason kaya natalo si manny eh yung gloves issue di ba? also yung kinuhanan siya ng dugo...saka madugas yung dati niyang promoter, mas focus na siya ngayon dahil hawak na niya ang pera niya di tulad nung promoter niyang sira sira ang ngipin.
mananalo yan si manny...professional yan come 24 hours before the fight naka focus na yan (hindi Ford Focus ah)
go manny...kayang kaya mo yan...
imho cayenne, expe kahit bumili pa siya ng sarili niyang eroplano...he earned it so shhhh.
