i'm not a doctor, but my opinion is that it is not.

hernia is a tissue defect in a tissue, at the lower abdomen that separates the intestines in going down there.
infertility is caused by low sperm count.

if a person has a hernia, the intestines go down sa scrotum, but it does not affect the way the testes produces sperm.

depende yata yan sa stage c4u, baka umpisa pa lang. pero kung pang-national geographic na, yun siguro yung gross.

baka naman may varicocoele sya which is different sa hernia. afaik mas common ito condition. varicocoele can be described as "bag of worms" texture ng mass sa taas ng testicle. it can cause intermittent pain pag matagal nakatayo o naglalakad kasi magswell yun. parang varicose vein ng itlog yun. It can cause infertility sa male kasi palagi mainitan yun testicle leading to decrease in quantity and quality of sperm. dapat kasi yun itlog sa scrotum e nakalawlaw pag mainit and naksiksik pag malamig para nakaregulate yun temp for spermatogenesis

to answer your Q, NO. it is the other way around. an undescended testes (hindi bumaba na b*yag) causes sterility, that is why your pedia monitors the baby's testes every time you bring your baby boy for a check up. staying up there where it is warm causes the testes to be underdeveloped, and consequently produce less sperm at maturity. colder climes (outside the body, fully descended) allows the testes to develop normally.

on the other hand, surgeries to repair a hernia of the scrotum can and do lead to infertility.
