NEW YORK -- Lance Armstrong finally admitted on Thursday that he used performance enhancing drugs during his cycling career.

As expected, he confessed to cheating in the first part of a televised interview with Oprah Winfrey that was recorded three days earlier at his hometown of Austin, Texas.

"Yes," he replied when asked directly whether he used performance enhancing drugs.

He also said "yes" to a series of questions about whether he used specific drugs, including erythropoietin and blood doping.
He already lost his 2000 Olympic medal and likely be forced to pay back his winnings from the 7 Tour de France titles.

The real gut punch will be the withdrawal of key sponsors and endorsment deals which will spell financial disaster for Armstrong.

All too late. He should hang himself since he fooled everyone for too long. Many idolized him only to find out he was a fraud. Can he be sued by his ex-sponsors?

Damage control. Image rehab. Avoidance of prosecution by cooperating with authorities. Possibility of reinstatement in competitions. Book deal.

The noose has tightened and he can't intimidate, sue or lie his way out of it anymore.

Too bad for him and for the sport. As he said, in his thoughts, he wasn't cheating rather he was leveling the playing field. Which means all cyclist would have taken PEDs in one form or another.

Still, PEDs or not, finishing the Tour de France 1st for 7 times among a sea of drugged cyclist is no easy task. Good luck to him.

Ricky Martin's homo***uality didn't win him multiple championship titles and the accompanying millions of dollars in endorsements that former sponsors are now suing Armstrong to recover.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
