Have mentioned it before that I have once more started running. I started out with 3k at the PSE bullrun this year and worked my way up to the 10k race for the Mizuno 2008 Infinity Run last Sunday (Mar 30). Too bad it was not well organized in the sense that they ran out of water at water stations. Some even before other runners had gotten there. Reports had it the event was also marred by rude organizers but that needs to be confirmed.

It was hard because it was hot and I heard that the 15k peeps had an even harder time. It was hot out as well know and water was much needed.

I posted what I felt was a decent 1:04 (haven't run a 10k since the 80s) as I am working my way up to 15k then eventually the 21k half marathon then 42k marathons.

I would highly recommend running as it is a mental sport and does not require much but dedication on the part of the individual. There are a growing number of runners and groups as well online so there is more incentive to join in the fun.

For april there is the ROX one at La Mesa and the Ateneo run. They normally have cool finisher shirts at these events and one can always start at 3k then 5k.

The best part of running is the "guilt-free diet" as they call it. In order to run I eat lots of rice and noodles and still lose inches from my waistline. This was as opposed to hi-protein diets of pure strength trainig I get to eat the Pinoy foods I love. Some fellow runners have dropped from a 33 to a 29 waist. And still eat what they like.

Oh and it is also nice to see the cute women running. Since they live healthy they are ***y in a fit kindda way. Plus they run around in sports bras as well.

Yup kaya I enjoy running kasi I get to eat the stuff I like. Kanin pa no prob.

My online group is Happy Feet.

You can check with GMA 7 (That is kapuso right?) it is "Draw the Line" run for a cause called "On your Mark" and they did not mention the distances covered but that should be something the organizer can inform you on.
