Manila Zoo to give way to PBA Coliseum - At least that's what Vice Isko Moreno and Rep Batsing wants. Manila Zoo is an institution and although it has been neglected and outdated (mas maganda sana kung rescue center na lang), it serves an important purpose --- educating the young people. Kung hindi dahil sa mga tulad nilang pulitiko na sobrang babaw at puro pagkakakitaan ang nalalaman, hindi sana mapapabayaan ang Manila Zoo.
Buti na lang Lim wants to improve Manila Zoo daw. I hope he keeps his word.Last edited by mazdamazda; June 25th, 2007 at 02:49 PM.

Medyo misleading yung thread title since as you said, only Moreno & Batsing want it. I'll be editing it.
Both Lim & Atienza opposes that idea and the leading proposal is to construct it near the vicinity of the Trinoma development (near Agham Road).

thousands of people still go there. everyday you will find people coming from all over, metro manila and nearby provinces, with their kids in tow and enjoying their stay. it is not only educational, it is fun. i had been to the manila zoo at least 3 times in the past 5 years for my little girls. over the last 5 years there had been a lot of improvements made. although last time we noticed that the girraffes were gone. the aviary in one corner was removed and the bird cages are now all around the lagoon, much better than just being in a square cage. there had been an addition and improvement of the playground. they even have some of the birds like owls, eagles and hawks out of their cages, you can pet them and have pictures taken with the birds perched on your arm. and there is one thing you will immediately notice at the zoo. kids, lots of them. with their parents, with their teachers, or just their barkadas.
and now these 2 clowns have this bright idea of a pba venue! e kung sila kaya ilagay dun sa cages, tutal mas madami pa animals na mas may utak sa kanila noh!Last edited by yebo; June 25th, 2007 at 02:55 PM.

IIRC, the Manila Zoological Park and Botanical Gardens is a historical landmark, being the first zoo in Asia.

Hope they spare Manila Zoo...improve na lang nila ang zoo, its about time!
For the PBA, kahit saan pwede yan...dadayuhin pa rin nila yan, look at Ultra, Ynares at Cuneta, wala namang direct access sa public transport pero sugod pa din mga fans lalo kapag BGK ang may laro...

June 25th, 2007 05:17 PM #10downtown manila real estate prices are way up there in the real estate charts.
where do you get large swaths of space?
the reclaimed area is fully reserved.
mehan gardens is protected.
you'd need the whole army to root out the informal settlers in the north harbour, sta cruz and tondo areas.
you get the idea?
somebody's gonna get rich in this scheme.
Kwento ng katrabaho ko, meron daw sya officemate dati na Italiano na tinanong daw bakit...
