now that the pvl has turned pro, teams from the other league (psl) have made a beeline to join the premiere volleyball league. w/ the latest transferees, chery tiggo crossovers and sta lucia lady realtors teams, now formally rounding out the 12 squad league roster, it's going to be an exciting bubble tournament when action returns in may.

Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors also moving from Super Liga to PVL

rumors are rife though that the only remaining active team in the psl, the f2 lady forwarders, will also jump ship and enter the professional vball fray. talk is they will formalize their move very soon and make an announcement any day now.

Finally, the champion of the PSL will play against the champion of the PVL under one league.

This should be interesting. This is good for Philippine women's volleyball.

Now that powerhouse f2 has joined the pvl, Someday soon they'll have to employ the drafting process for incoming rookies to create talent equity in the league. Hindi naman pwede lahat ng dlsu products (and to an extent ateneo alums too) pumunta lang sa iisang team. Pvl has to create a system to spread the wealth to induce competitive parity w/in their ranks.

Nagawa ito agad ng debuting women's nat'l basketball league (wnbl) , the distaff side of local hoopdom's pro league, but the advantage they had is that they were starting from scratch. May protected list lang sila of several players tapos nagkaroon na ng online rookie draft last month.

I wonder kung babalik ang smc sa volleyball scene soon ngayon na organized na ang lahat. It's going to be the next best sports marketing vehicle soon, if not now na nga actually.

    I agree.

Right now direct hire / direct recruit mga players.

Mas exciting ang laban pag pantay pantay mga team.

Hindi tulad sa nangyayari sa PBA ngayon

    Very cool.

Ang problema nila naman ngayon iyong 3 teams sa men's league nila, spiker's turf, ay hesitant pa mag pro. Ang men's volleyball pa naman ang mas naging successful sa international competitions natin dahil sa competitive organized league dito sa atin.

Ateneo ace Jho Maraguinot foregoes her final year of eligibility to turn pro.

This pandemic has bought so much uncertainty that a number of players have decided to skip their final year/s of college to instead play pro ball. Talk is the UAAP isn't sure if there'll even be a season this year even after canceling the 2020 tournament.

jaja santiago has an open invitation to acquire a japanese citizenship after her impressive championship showing in the japan pro vball circuit.

Jaja Santiago bares Ageo wants her to turn local, but: 'May pride pa rin naman ako'

kung sabagay she was being recruited by the ucla lady bruins to play for them before but she ultimately decided to turn it down. she's a very talented lady nga naman talaga.

I would like to see how much Jaja Santiago has improved because of her stint in Japan.

Hopefully, her experience there will rub off her team and the women's volleyball community.

So much has changed in the game that I dont anymore recognize the rules.

Used to play for school's vball team where my jumps made up for the lack in height until a freak accident (landing on the blocker's foot) ended my dream. [emoji24]

I hated the fact that it also hurt the skin of my arms playing it. Kaya i shied away from the sport. Also, i was stupid to associate it w/ homo***uality. Katangahan ng mga panahon na iyon. [emoji58]

Exactly what I felt & what I thought when we were also required to play it in grade school (I think we went to the same grade school hehe). If I'm not mistaken, aside from no libero, there would be 9 players per sdie that would move like an S. So you would have your own small box to protect hehe.
