ok lang naman. i've also seen sicko. michael moore is the sicko. this fat piece of ***t is a con man. he selectively presents facts and manipulates his interviews in his documentaries. his latest documentary, "sicko" is a joke i was rotfl after seeing it. while it's quite true that the US health care system is in need of reform, michael moore's documentary made it seem worse than it actually is. this guy is just out there to capitalize on his popularity. he is more of a nuisance than a researcher imo.

i encourage everyone who thinks moore is a credible source of information to read on these: http://www.mega.nu:8080/ampp/michaelmoore.html and http://newsbusters.org/node/13866

I would like to make a reaction on this based on my own personal experience and not on what the movie "Sicko" has implied.

Sometime 2006, I experienced an unbearable back pain so I have to consult my doctor. I have a crossbreed insurance (HMO that has PPO features) which is covered by A***A. My company, being a Fortune 500 company, is very picky when it comes to health coverage so I assumed everything was taken cared of.

I was not charged any amount after being tested and diagnosed by the doctor and hospital. The only procedure done to me was a multiple x-ray of my back. A few weeks later, the bills came in and I was shocked to see how much amount I owe. The X-ray procedure totaled $1,100. My insurance only covered $500 so I have to pay $600 to the hospital. The doctor's fee is $250. My insurance paid only $100 to the doctor (being a specialist) so I still owe him $150. Good thing I have money saved for these situations.

My experience is not a generalization of what is happening here in the US. My insurance coverage may not be enough? Luckily nothing serious was found after the tests, otherwise I guess I will be paying more.

I have since elected a new HMO coverage for 2008 and ditched A***A for good.

Moore may have inserted some poignant and satirical points in his movie only to emphasize the experiences of a percentage of the US population. Nevertheless, however little that percentage is, the healthcare system should be given greater attention especially the US being the riches nation in the world. I think the movie came in the right time to wake up the legislators and iniatiate reforms in the system.

    Peace.
