    Umpisahan na natin regular season.

Puwede kaya Gibson, Deng for Gasol? Salary matching ata problem. Pero kung may 3rd option like NJN to get maybe DWill baka puwede.

The Chicago Bulls only need to dispose Boozer to a more consistent PF. Other than that, nothing should be changed.

IMO, Boozer should really go. The only thing Chicago needs in him is his offense and Taj Gibson could do it maybe better, just give him more experience. And add to it his energy and defense which Boozer doesn't have. Better trade him for a more consistent PF that's more consistent than Boozer. Kahit sa offense lang yung tipong kahit playoffs makakakuha ng 17ppg hindi ung 20 points tapos next game 7pts.

Why would the Lakers want an undersized PF who can't play D? Gasol can already do all of the things Boozer does, plus his defense, while not stellar or outstanding, is at least decent. I'd rather they ship out Metta World Peace before he goes bonkers and changes his name again.

Lakers, Nets, Rockets discuss potential trade for Magic All-Star center Dwight Howard

    Quote Originally Posted by Ry_Tower

Dwight Howard is pushing for a trade to Brooklyn, but can the Nets make a deal? (Reuters)Orlando officials are willing to discuss trades for Howard, and the Lakers have been one of the teams in touch with them over the weekend, sources said. The Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets have also talked to Magic officials, sources said.

While the Lakers have yet to make a direct offer, there's no scenario where Orlando would move Howard to the Lakers without getting back Andrew Bynum, L.A.'s 24-year-old All-Star center. Pau Gasol wouldn't fit the Magic's desires to rebuild with young players and draft picks.

The Lakers had been willing to part with Bynum for Howard in March, but those talks ended when Howard decided to decline his early termination option and remain under contract through the 2012-13 season.

The Magic reached out to teams Saturday and told them that they’ll discuss proposals about moving Howard, sources said.

Howard and his agent, Dan Fegan, have repeatedly told the Magic in recent weeks that Howard wants to be moved, and that his preferred destination of the Brooklyn Nets hasn’t changed, sources said.

Nevertheless, time is running out for Howard to be traded to Brooklyn because Nets general manager Billy King has begun to aggressively explore deals for players like Joe Johnson, Luis Scola and O.J. Mayo in an attempt to surround free-agent point guard Deron Williams with more talent. Williams is choosing between the Nets and Dallas Mavericks and could make a decision in the next several days. Sources say Williams' patience with waiting for Howard to eventually come to Brooklyn is wearing out, and that he’s likely to make his decision whether to accept the Nets' five-year, $100 million contract offer devoid of Howard as a factor.

The Nets have already reached agreement with Gerald Wallace on a four-year, $40 million deal and are working to re-sign Brook Lopez, another of their free agents. Their salary cap will be too congested to sign Howard as a free agent next summer. For now, Brooklyn could include Lopez in a sign-and-trade with young players and future draft picks for Howard, but the Nets probably can’t construct the most attractive package for Orlando.

The Houston Rockets remain determined to try to land Howard, and have several young players to offer as part of a package.

^ Bynum dapat tapos some cash. Same position, same all-stars naman. MWP or Matt Barnes could be added sa mix nga plus . future round picks. LAL must act fast. I still prefer Pau over Bynum. Sagwa lang laro ni Pau kasi nga sa baba ng morale due to trade rumors IMO.

Knicks to let Lin go to Rockets

The Knicks planned to cut ties with Jeremy Lin on Tuesday, allowing the popular point guard who spawned "Lin-sanity" in New York to head to Houston, the New York Times reported.

Lin's fate has been the subject of intense speculation since he became a restricted free agent this month. He inked a $25 million offer sheet with the Rockets, but the Knicks had the option of matching it until midnight Tuesday night.

"The Knicks plan to cut ties with Jeremy Lin on Tuesday night," the Times reported, citing "a person briefed on the decision".

The Knicks had vowed to match any offer Lin received. But the Rockets' offer included a $14.9 million scheduled payment for the third year, which would have cost the Knicks millions in luxury-tax penalties on excessive salaries.

Although the Knicks still had hours to change their minds, dismayed fans were already voicing their disappointment.

"We're losing more than one player. He was a symbol of the city," Jason Gutierrez, a 29-year-old musician, told AFP outside the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

Mary Anne Jones, a 42-year-old sales assistant from New York's East Village, said it didn't make sense to part with the 23-year-old Lin when the Knicks had just acquired NBA veteran point Jason Kidd -- who was expected to serve as Lin's mentor and backup.

"We got a 39-year-old player and we let (Lin) go. I don't understand," she said. "I think it's a big mistake. He's a young, gifted player. I'm sure the fans will miss him."

Knicks star Carmelo Anthony had been among those hoping the young point guard would stay, although he knew money would be an issue.

"I would love to see him back, honestly. I would definitely love to see him back," Anthony said after a US Olympic team exhibition win over Brazil in Washington on Monday.

"But knowing the business of basketball, it's kind of a tough situation, kind of for both parties," Anthony said.

Lin, whose parents are from Taiwan and whose grandmother is from China, became a smash Broadway hit during last season after having been cut by two NBA clubs -- including the Rockets.

Injuries to two starters allowed the former Harvard University standout a chance to come off the Knicks bench and Lin responded by sparking a seven-game Knicks winning streak, his clutch shooting and passing skills earning him adoration from fans.

"Lin-sanity" became a worldwide phenomenon and even after his role was reduced, he served as an inspirational tale.

"Bye bye Knicks... am not Knicks fan anymore," Jen-Jung Fan wrote on the Knicks' Facebook page, just one of a welter of pro-Lin postings.

Source: Antawn Jamison will sign with Lakers

By GREG BEACHAM (AP Sports Writer) | The Associated Press – 3 hours ago.. .

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Antawn Jamison is joining up with Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash to chase a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Jamison will sign a one-year deal with the Lakers, a person with direct knowledge of the decision told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Lakers hadn't announced the move.

The 36-year-old forward will sign for the veteran's minimum salary, likely bolstering the Lakers' woeful bench with scoring and veteran leadership while pursuing the first championship ring in a career largely spent as the best player on bad teams.

He won't have that problem with the Lakers, who will have Bryant and newcomer Nash in their backcourt flanked by two elite 7-footers - although their identities will depend on whether Los Angeles' apparent efforts to land Dwight Howard are successful. Jamison also will be reunited with coach Mike Brown, who was in charge of the Cavaliers when Jamison was traded to Cleveland during the 2009-10 season.

Jamison had several suitors for his services, including his hometown Charlotte Bobcats, the Brooklyn Nets and the Golden State Warriors, his employer for his first five NBA seasons. For a player who has never advanced past the second round of the playoffs in 14 NBA seasons, the Lakers' chance to contend apparently was too enticing to Jamison.

The Lakers are the fifth NBA team for Jamison, who averaged 17.2 points and 6.3 rebounds for an awful Cavs team last season despite shooting a career-low 40.3 percent. He is averaging an impressive 19.5 points per game in his career, never scoring fewer than 14.8 points per game since his rookie season with Golden State in 1999.

Jamison could be a huge upgrade to the Lakers' bench, which repeatedly struggled to hold leads last season when the starters sat down. Matt Barnes was the Lakers' top-scoring reserve with just 7.8 points per game, and Los Angeles had the NBA's lowest-scoring bench with just 20.5 points per game.

Jamison has been a reserve just once in his career, but he was good at it: During his only season with the Dallas Mavericks in 2003-04, he was selected the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year while playing alongside Nash.

Metta World Peace is likely to be the Lakers' starting small forward, although Brown brought World Peace off the bench early last year. Jamison could back up World Peace and Pau Gasol in a job that would resemble Lamar Odom's responsibilities for the Lakers' last championship team in 2010.

Jamison generates his steady scoring from an arsenal of herky-jerky, off-balance shots, including an impressive ability to shoot underhanded. He's also a remarkably consistent 3-point shooter - hitting between 34 and 35 percent of his attempts in each of the past five seasons - joining a team that needs perimeter scoring.

Bryant knows all about Jamison's unique skills: They were Pacific Division rivals early in their careers, and they engaged in one of the most scintillating scoring duels in NBA history on Dec. 6, 2000, in Oakland. Jamison and Bryant scored 51 points apiece - Bryant's career high at the time - as Golden State beat the Lakers in overtime.

Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak hasn't commented on the club's interest level in Howard, speaking instead about his interest in supplementing his addition of Nash with a handful of veteran bench players. The Lakers will be well over the luxury-tax threshold, forcing Kupchak to seek out new additions willing to put team success ahead of financial rewards.
