It has always been 70% car, 30% driver. The best driver gets hired by the best team to maximize their chances at a championship.

    In the modern time yes.

Though during the time of JMF, I do believe that it's the driver that's probably 70% and the car 30%. Mostly manual/mechanical cars benefit from drivers who are actually masquerading as they are actually mechanics and engineers by heart. Or maybe JMF was just a very special individual.

The Prancing Horse really looks like it is in a class of its own in this new era.

Speed, reliability, driver lineup, flexibility (I don't see a track where they are not a favorite), they've got it all this year. Lots of tifosi in the Philippines so I imagine this should be a great time for them.

Btw, for the young uns who are wondering why there are lots of Ferrari fans in the PH, it's basically because live F1 coverage in the PH (via cable TV) started in the mid-90's when Schumacher was starting to be dominant. The PH didn't have cable nor UHF in the 80's.

Prior to that, older motorsports fans only had Channel 9's Gillette World of Sports to see highlights and car magazines for in-depth discussions.

Saw live races on Skycable's Star Sports channel half way through the 1993 season but watched my first full season of F1 racing in 1994. Was able to catch Senna's fatal crash in Imola and final race in Adelaide were Schumi caused a deliberate accident vs Damon Hill...

Wow what a trip down memory lane!

I think it was on that program where I first learned about the Camel Trophy expeditions and overlanding. Hanep yung Series 1 Range Rovers going through all sorts of terrain.

Ako rin, I used to watch F1 is RPN9. Early 90s ata yun. Ilang beses din nila analyze yung crash ni Senna sa Imola.

Big problem for Ferrari, both cars DNF, very happy RB camp.

Good job by Russell as well. Si Hamilton napaghahalataan nang tanders though maybe the porpoising issue affected his back really badly.

Ahhhh... the nostalgia. One of my favorite programs in the morning during the mid-80s.
Kung baga sa SM.... "they've got it all". Motorsports, gymnastics, boxing, swimming, etc.

BTT... most likely Max Verstappen with Sergio Perez in tow would cop the driver's championship, and thus... the constructor's championship as well.
But it's early goings... though Charles Leclerc is just beginning to be bitten by the gremlins which had been hounding Hamilton all season long.
