In this gov’t, you can’t use charity as an excuse. They will still follow the rule of (twisted) law.
What’s ironic is, the beneficiaries of the land ends up selling it instead of the intended purpose of the law, which is to guarantee livelihood for them. Once they own the land, they now have to pay taxes. E di ibebenta na lang.

I bought these adjoining 3 parcels of land from a family of owners, roughly 12.5 hectares in total. Sugarcane, goats, cattle, free range poultry, organic vegetables are our products. Integrated farming. Not CARP-able if I don't apply for a VOS (Voluntary Offer to Sell) with the DAR.

Yes land reform, a massive failure of a program. In Negros Occidental where we have a much wider land area, we diversified a bigger portion of the property to corn and soya beans. And secured a contract growing agreement with a food manufacturing company. Still, we maintain an area for sugarcane.

    Agro-Industrial na kami ngayon.

Speaking of the weather, I planted a hectare of land with bananas (Saba, lakatan varieties). Dumating and mga bagyo, tumba lahat na puno. Sinubukan ko lang naman kasi may ready market ang saging, sayang.

Develop your land for industries (like an EPZA) or make it residential, DAR can’t touch it. At least, these are things I was told.

How do you avoid that scenario when your primary objective is to help? Of course, you don't want to just give away your land as you help them.
    Short, interesting film. Enjoy.

Short?!? It's almost two hours! This must be like what is called in English literature as "short story". I never understood why it's called short when it's "long" but at least, not as long as Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo.

Language is "crazy", I mean the rules. I remember in our English class when I asked about the difference between much and many. My classmates made fun of me, not until they heard my next question. No one was able to answer it, including my teacher.

Apologies for my choice of words. You, asked a question awhile back, and i realized it would be better to share this film rather than me talking what the whole land reform issue is.
