November 24th, 2014 01:12 AM #1771Ano po bang warranty ang mavovoid if I modify my headlights(change bulbs/retrofit/etc.)? Yung headlights lang po ba o kasali yung sa electronics/wirings? I'm planning to add some details to the headlights of my CX5 but I'm quite hesitant kasi baka magsisi ako sa huli dahil sa warranty.

November 24th, 2014 07:21 PM #1772Allow me to share my experience, though not exactly modification of headlights. I had door scuff installed on my 2.5 sa araneta accessories, nung tine-trace which wiring ang para sa door (open-close) para mag lit yung LED Cx5 logo, somehow na-burn yung AFS (adaptive front lighting system) controller. Nung dinala ko sa dealer, they said it is not covered by warranty dahil sa ginalaw ang wiring. What I did was remove the door scuff then dinala ko sa original dealer where I bought my unit. It would have costs me 22k just to replace that 1X1 inch size controller. I had the door scuff reinstalled pero hindi siya connected sa electrical, cosmetic accessory na lang siya. So now, sa accessories basta it has something to do with the electrical system ng unit takot na ko magpalagay/modify.

November 24th, 2014 07:21 PM #1773I wonder if meron dito 2.5 owners na we're able to installl a door sill scuff na wala na-apektuhan sa electrical system ie: i-stop, afs etc.

November 24th, 2014 08:01 PM #1774I think I read your issue somewhere in this forum before sir. Kaya nga natatakot din ako maglagay ng modifications sir involving electrical wirings. I just feel like my headlights need a bit of an upgrade(I have the 2.0 Pro). Tsaka gusto ko rin maiba yung looks ng CX-5 ko kaya I'm weighing my options. Ayoko lang talaga magkaproblema ako sa warranty in the future.

You shouldn't encounter a problem if the job is done professionally. Usually that means paying more. Read about people's experiences about car shops and avoid the problematic ones.

Guys, help... I need to make a decision this week between CX5 Pro & Forester Premium. There is only 100k+- difference in cost; i can't afford the 50% down to avail the 0% for the X5. What other things does the X5 has an advantage? Thanks
ice cream :twak2: check out the side impact beams (diagonal). seems to be riveted to plastic...
