    Guys, I got 2 kids and I'm contemplating of buying them a Gameboy each, just to settle them down on long trips or waits. Since mura lang ang Gameboy due to its age, I was wondering kung ok pa ba buying them. Although I would like to buy a PSP, pero big, bulky and more expensive sila.

    Your thoughts, please.

    Just get them Nintendo DS tapos buy R4 so you can just download the games, no more need to buy expensive cartridges....

    tidus' and compact's opinion are both correct.

    for one, each game cartridge costs around 600 pesos or more, depending on the kind of game. considering kids, ang bilis magsawa nyan.

    a more reasonable solution:

    a) the DS will work;
    b) or a second hand modified PSP will also work;

    kung pati ikaw eh maglalaro, mas sulit yung option b.

    yep kung bibili ka go for DS na para even lumaki sila at maghanap ng mas bago "in" pa rin. though okay pa rin naman ang GB lalo kung tig isa mo bibilhan. for my kids tig isa rin sila bigay nga lang from abroad na pinagsawaan (siguro) pero ayos lang dahil during summer break lang. banned kasi mga kids kong mag games during school days.

    Mag DS Lite ka nalang with R4DS. Sobrang liit lang ng filesizes ng mga games nito unlike PSP na umaabot ng 1.7gb ang isang game. Mas pangbata pa ang mga games sa DS Lite compared sa PSP.

    Minsanang gastusan lang sa DS Lite since downloadable mga games. Kung mag Gameboy ka, di ka pwede magdownload ng game cartridge

    sa mga features compare gameboy SP to PSP, lamang ang PSP but consider din ang gagamit. my son got game boy SP and PSP(modified with 4GB memory) maganda ang PSP sa graphics, functions talagang lamang but masmatagal pa ginagamit ng son ko ang gameboy due ang gusto niyang laro ay pokemon at wala pa akong nakukuhang ganito for PSP.

    Okay pa naman ang GameBoy, if you fit it with a cartridge that has a mini/microSD, then you can download games from the internet and load it there. Your kid will have a menu of 100 games, sawa na siya riyan.... One of my kids will never part from his pokemon games na sa Nintendo lang available. He was also evolving the pokemons by trading it over the internet with other online players (DS model),- cool!

    One of my engineers has more than 2GB of games stored for the GameBoy and more can still be downloaded from the internet.

    PSP is also good. This is the game console of my eldest son... Modified and fitted with 4GB of memory. Great screen/graphics. A better gadget to watch movies vs. GameBoy. Also, an MP3 player. The same engineer of ours has over 30GB of games stored for the PSP, and again, more can be downloaded. Mas mahal nga lang ito vs. GameBoy.

    Depende sa model ng GameBoy,- 1PSP is approx 2GameBoy

    Bro.,- ang Pokemon kasi ay Nintendo lang. That is the reason why.

    Magkano na lang ba ngayon ang DS Lite sa Greenhills/Virra Mall? I am planning on getting one for my daughter next month. I was told to get an R4 din para you can download and play games, MP3 and even video on your DS Lite. Yung nga lang parang up to 2GB micro SD card lang ang compatible with R4. Magkano po naman ba ang R4? I need to make sure I have the budget kasi . Thanks po.

    PSP is not the way to go if its young kids cause mas mura ang DS. Mas matibay (just in case nabagsak) and mas cheap ang maintenance (games downloads, longer lasting rechargeable battery) and Pokemon sure to make your kids shut up for a very long period of time

    ang maganda lang gameboy ay mura. Saka sobrang tagal ng battery life nya. Kung maliit pa yung anak mo ay pwede na din ang game boy SP.

    I finally bought Nintendo DS Lite for my kids. Very convenient ang size and included in the package ay EZFlash V which uses MicroSD to store games which I could just download off the internet and copy straight into the MicroSD using Windows.

    I even bought sponge covers for their units just in case binagsak nila, ok pa rin. Worry ko lang ay yun touch screen (although they say matibay naman sya) because the way they play the game called Cooking Mama 2, grabe sila mag scratch ng touch screen. A must talaga yun screen protectors dito, which I bought as well.

    So far so good, medyo tahimik na bahay.

    Bought it sa Singapore for about SGD270.00. You could buy them here for about PHP8,900.
