Budget all-around desktop, approx 10k budget

im planning to build my own rig, all around siya not really for hardcore gaming as i don't really play games that are really heavy..

what i have in mind,

• amd athlon X2 5200 - 2,595

• ECS nforce ECS Nforce4M or ECS A740GM-A or ECS GF6100PM
  - all at 1,995

(ano mas magandang combination with the AMD proc? is it the one with nvidia chipset or yung may AMD chipset?)

• Seagate 320GB 7200RPM - 2,095

• 512MB Palit/Inno3D GF9500GT -2,195

(or other cards na magandang pair sa mobo at proc? ATI maybe? not sure.)

• 2GB Kingston DDR2 - 2,095

• PSU- i don't know yet, please give some suggestions. as what i'v read Hec and thermaltake are good. ok din ba ang gigabit? and ilang watts?

it may exceed 10k pero ok lang basta somewhere near the stated budget.

so far Race07, rFactor at Richard Burns Rally ang gagamitan ko. and also leave a reservation that somebody i'm gonna learn photoshop and 3DS Max (tuloy ko na yung pagaaral ko neto ngayung summer)

i already have here a casing from a prehistoric pc i don't care if it looks like it was designed and constructed during the ice age hehe.. meron na din ako DVD drive so that cuts the cost na.. thanks all :D

Dapat at least 785G ang chipset for AMD para pwede mo i-unlock yung ibang cores. hehe

All AMD cpu in socket AM3 are supposedly quad cores that had their other cores disabled or are defective enough in the manufacturing process to not be considered as a Quad Core Cpu during quality control.

For example, a Sempron 140 is marketed as a single core budget cpu. But some people with the correct chipset and motherboard model + luck in picking the right cpu, managed to unlock the other three cores. Thereby getting a quad core for the a fraction of the price of the real one.

by luck, meaning not all X2 procs has 2 extra cores na unlockable?

ok nag research na ako at alam ko yung about dito.. i learned some emaxx motherboard does support the ACC (advanced clock calibration, a tool in the bios to unlock the hidden cores)

mas marami yatang mga phenom X2 and X3 na naconvert into X4..

meron siya special bios for core unlocking and merong onboard ATI HD3300, so di ko na kailangang bumili ng card. as i'v checked in TPC nasa 5000+ ang price nya..

jjc, yung 785G, ATI HD4200 ang vidcard nun. Nauna kasi ang 890 ilabas ata kaya HD3300 lang meron sya.

The best brand of mobo for me is Gigabyte esp the UD series (UDXX). Ito yung all solid capacitors.

I meant 790G. Anyway, 785G is your best bet right now. AMD is scrambling to find ways to discourage core unlocking via hardware since it has stalled the sales of their upper tier CPUs.

Also, stick to Western Digital HDDs for now. I'm not sure kung naayos na ng Seagate yung recent quality issues nila which wasted a lot of work for millions (if not billions) of users due to lost data.
