The Daikin that's available in the stores only has an EER of 12.5.

So it has a higher acquisition cost and higher consumption than the equivalent LG split type. What's your experience with LG? Inclined to get one now since it's both affordable and efficient.

Majority of the hotels I stay at also use LG. And haven't heard any horror stories, at least not like Samsung (even my friend who works for Samsung doesn't recommend it.

On a side note: travs you're the only construction guy I've encountered that doesn't drive a pickup or SUV. [emoji23]

LG is fine.....but think cars. Nippon above everyone else.[emoji4]
Even those in the industry who carry other brands won't, w/ honesty, claim superiority vs Daikin.
Oh, with any brand, try going w/ a group that has good after-sales.

Yes I generally agree which is why Daikin and Panasonic were my top choices. But looking at spec sheets, the LG looks like a winner.

I'm wondering if the LG is excellent on paper but loses out in practice to the Japs. Just as the Elantra 1.8 makes more power and costs less than the FD Civic 1.8 but we all know which is the better car for the long term between the two. Is the case the same for aircons?

windows can be quiet after it reaches the target temp, regulating it will depend on the insulation and leakage of the room.

If we're talking inverter window, Hitachi above Pana. Split, Daikin rules...like Civic over Elantra anytime. Nothing against LG & Hyundai, though.[emoji4]

Compressor won't be off all the time.[emoji4] I'm not 1 bothered by AC noise nor looks. I push more than discourage window where allowed.[emoji106]

Was in the same situation 3 years ago. Opted for 4 LG units which all had unique issues.
Next time, id go for Daikin.
A friend had a recurring issue with his Pana unit that ended up a lemon after warranty.
Same thing for cars and ACs, japanese are still above koreans

Jut, meron yun aux A/C na china brand. 8 years warranty for compressor and 5 years for parts. Check mo kung how much price, nag offer lang yun nag cleaning sa akin the other day.

Huwag ka matakot sa maintenance ng split type hinde naman ikaw ang gagawa.

Kung ok yun nag install sayo sila na lang tawagan mo for the maintenance kahit after warranty na.

As with everything you have to find a good and honest na company na mag install saka mag maintain.

As for brand. For mee pare-pareho na lahat yan. We have one Panasonic 15 years na yata non inverter, napalitan na ng compressor for 8k+ siguro all in mas mura pa kung ako mismo bibili ng compressor but i opted na yun installer ko na lang bumili dahil meron warranty. Original and brand new naman

Saka meron din ako nakikita na Hitachi brand yata na full inverter. Alam ko ganyan na yun bago ngayon na mga inverter dapat full inverter Na.
