CIS or laser

Need to buy a new printer for the office. We print around 1500 pages a month. All text and spreadsheets. So we only need a mono printer. What will give us a lower operating cost, CIS or laser?

New lasers are cheap, Fuji Xerox and Samsung have models that cost only 4000 pesos. Draw back is expensive toner around P3000. Of course we can use refills that cost around P850. So 850 / 2500 pages per toner (rated) = 0.34 pesos per page + paper

CIS will cost roughly P2000 more but ink is practically free. But its slower and printouts are not as good as lasers.

Which is a better buy?

It's easily refillable. Great print output. Faster.

Try Kyocera/HP/Fuji. Samsung is new in this field, not yet reliable IMO.

I will recommend Samsung... really cheap and why doubt a worldwide brand that continually improves their products?????

Samsung ML2010 -- 8Mb Memory, 166Mhz processor -- 5,000 pesos
HP 1020 -- 2Mb memory, 233Mhz processor -- 8,999 pesos
HP 1022 -- 8Mb memory, 266Mhz processor -- 12,999 pesos

I guess the above comparison will give the edge to Samsung...

Lahat kasi ng Samsung products na nagamit/nabili ko, nasira agad. hehe

Kahit mura ang machine ng Samsung, sobrang mahal ng Toner nyan, most of the time, mas mahal pa sa printer.

yung Samsung na 3-in-1 namin, more than a year na, ok pa naman. mahal nga toner, nasa 3K+.

mahal nga toner pero you print 3,000 pages... so lalabas 1 peso each... and also I'm confident with Ink-rite Toner Refill Services... kasi hindi lang nila nilalagyan ng powder yung toner... binabaklas nila to check kung okay pa yung drum... at 1,400 petot lang ginagastos namin... We have 6 Q2612A HP toners used in 5 HP Laserjet 1010 at 1 HP Laserjet 3015...

At saka kaya pala puro HP gamit ko kasi nag massive sale ang HP nung Laserjets 2 years ago...

I sell Samsung Lasers so far wala pang bumabalik....

let's all patronize color lasers para naman maging mainstream. dapat nga we should get rid of this inkjet technology -> gatasan ng mga nag-rerefill at printer companies. hindi din naman tumatagal ang kulay.

CIS - continuous ink system?!?

between the two CIS would be good for you...1500 pages is kaunti.

mag laser kung 1500 pages ka a day or within a week...

ink jets with CIS would also be cheap...merun ka pang option for colors.

maganda rin sana kung ang inkjet with CIS ay yung dye based ink and not the pigment based...water proof kasi yung dye based

Anyone have experience refilling Samsung laser toners? And how much?

i refilled the toner of our Samsung 3-in-1 with the toner from our previous laser printer (Panasonic) and ok naman so far.

Guys ang CIS ba kasing bilis ng laser?

To the threadstarter: kung vinavalue ng company ninyo ang oras you may want to consider the faster solution. As of now I'm not sure kung mas mabilis ba si Laser or si CIS. Doon ka sa mas mabilis kung vinavalue din ninyo ang time.
