kaya nya adobe photoshop kung 72 dpi psd files lang edit mo

netbooks overheat when you leave it at home for ******* download for a day or so

bagal na copy nya if you're going to copy simulteaneously from 2 external hard drives

netbooks are just for internet surfing and word processing or perhaps even photo organizing or photo downloading from your gadgets.

    even video-editing ambagal neto.

atom's too slow. benta ko na akin. nag-dual core na lang ako na 14" simpresyo lang, mas masrap gamitin sa windows 7

Think of a netbook as a slow notebook PC. It can do pretty much as a notebook PC can do but with less processing power.

So, it can do photoshop or coreldraw but you wouldn't want to open a 5 Meg layered image with it. More modest 500kb jpegs/tiff/etc can be handled with no problems. I have experienced three different netbooks already and programs like Photoshop isn't really that much of a problem.

Overheating is not really an issue as long as proper ventilation is taken care like keeping the air vents clear of any obstructions. This means you can't keep a netbook sitting on a pillow or bed because it will block the air vents under the unit. Best to keep it on a hard surface.

I have occasionally run my netbooks for five days straight without any signs of it overheating or other problems.

Copying files to and from external USB drives is no problem but moving files from one USB HDD to another USB HDD will be slow because it creates data flow bottlenecks in the internal USB hub, as would happen in other similar PCs with a single USB hub.

Video editting will definitely be slow on a netbook and best left for more powerful computers with high performance GPUs and more RAM.

Video playback is one more thing netbooks can do well. Netbooks using the ATOM and GMA945 or GMA950 video chipset can play 480i videos smoothly. With a little tweaking you can get it to play 720i videos just as smoothly.

BTW, most netbooks are limited to 2gb of ram because of design of the Intel ATOM chipset. But there are newer netbooks which use Intel Core2 and AMD Neo X2 chipsets which have a maximum ram of 4gb. These netbooks generally have bigger screens as well... 11 to 12 inches. These perform much faster than Atom netbooks but still below the performance of average notebook PCs. Battery life for these newer netbooks are comparable to typical netbooks inspite of having more powerful CPUs and bigger LCD screens.

    ---------------------------

    My netbooks, past to present:

    Acer Aspire One 8G - Intel Atom N270 1.6ghz / 1.5gb ram / 8Gb SDD / 8.9" LCD / WinXP
    MSi Wind U100+ - Intel Atom N280 1.66ghz / 2gb ram / 250gb HDD / 10" LCD / WinXP
    MSi Wind12 U210x - AMD Neo X2 Dual-Core 1.6ghz / 2gb ram / 500gb HDD / 12.1" LCD / Win7U

    ---------------------------

    Advantages of netbooks:
    -lightweight
-longer battery life than notebook PCs
-smaller size (easy to carry, requires smaller table space)
    -lower purchase price

You can install an application to monitor the CPU temperature and fan speed as well. You can set it to give a warning or automatically do certain stuff like underclock the CPU to help cool down or shutdown the PC.

Generally the only problem you would have is if the fan itself conks out. Otherwise, the PC would operate well in most conditions.

Personally I don't even bother anymore.

It was nice to toy around with these programs to adjust certain features & functions to my preference when I was new to netbooks but I came to a point that it doesn't matter anymore since the default settings does a good job anyway.

    try cpuid.com for monitoing temp.

Notebooks are sensitive to high temp operation and greatly loose efficiency or worst results to auto-shutdown as protection.

Performance wise, as described from previous post it depends on what application you are going to run. Laptops cant be compared to speeds of desktop but you can compensate speed by selecting the highest spec'd like biggest memory, separate video processor, powerful cpu, and good heat dissipation.

Best practice is to have both laptop and desktop. Laptop for mobile use and basic applications, desktop for mainstream application, storage, and backup/ restoration.

notebook cooler isn't even needed unless the notebook's ventilation system is badly designed in the first place (like certain DELL models).

netbook limitations?
