you will need a mirroring or disk copying software like the old Norton's Ghost but more updated to support the current size of HDDs.
Connect both HDDs to a computer running the software. Note, some current softwares can boot up directly from a bootable CD (that you make). Others, require DOS to run.

if you are just replacing the hard disk with a bigger one then backup and restore will work. just create a system image and restore it to the new disk. just follow the steps in the link. it worked for me.![]()
win 7 oem? no problem. it won't trigger windows product activation typically.
