i've been using it for almost 3 months now. it's not DSL but something like wireles LAN. speed could reach as fast as 1190kps and the slowest is 260kps. minsan nacu-cut nga lang bigla yung connection pag malakas ang ulan at kidlat. meridian is marketing this service at the rated speed of 280kpbs. service is limited to metro manila area only depending on the availability of their network signal. i'm located in alabang, they have a relay station somewhere in sucat near bf homes.

it's not using smart cellcite althought this company is totally owned by pldt/smart. i think it's not using the GSM frequency. P800/month promo di ko inabot (mid march). my monthly bill is P998/month unlimited use.

Yes, Wi-Fi product is not using GSM frequency but rather using the radio frequency (for example, 2.4GHz for 802.11b or 11g, 5GHz for 802.11a).

Nung nagapply kami dyan sa Meridian sabi nila kailangan matayo sila ng antenna na pagkataas taas at ilalagay pa daw nila yun sa second floor ng bahay namin kaya nung malaman ko yun hindi na kami nagpakabit.

They're marketing P799+ for 289kbps although you could avail of much larger BW at a higher price. What's nice about it is that there's burstable speed w/c is great for non- real-time apps like surfing. Most meridian AP's are located on SMART cell sites so if you have one near your house or at least 2-4km from where you plan to put it, and you have LOS, then more or less you're fine. Installation is around 500 bucks, equipment's free.

hindi naman siguro... depende siguro sa lakas ng bagyo kasi pag malakas ang hangin may tendency na mag-sway ang CPE antenna or the AP itself. in result maaapektuhan ang radio link ng dalawang equipment (CPE & AP).
