Any words about mga bagong 3D TVs? It's like it's better than HD TVs and it has realistic 3D feature na it feels like you're watching a 3D movie with your 3D glasses on.

    How cool is that?

Most brands are doing it. HD TV is out, 3D TV is in!

There are only two true 3D bluray movies available on the market for now. Wait and see muna since baka mag flop ung format. It maybe rendered obsolete by glassless 3D technology. Will a 3D bluray rip to 720P mkv be able to play like one on 3DTV?

I've viewed one at the nearby electronics shop and the "flicker" irritates the hell out of me. It was a Panasonic 55 inch 480hz 3d Viera model.

I hope they soon come up with 3d parallax displays.

I read somewhere that prolonged 3D TV watching is bad for the health. And I think this finding was released by Samsung.

Saw a 3D demo at the Sony shop in Trinoma. After the initial background flickering, which is your eyes synching with the glasses, viewing went smoothly. The demo of the polar bear in the pool and FIFA world cup were really impressive. Haven't seen the Panasonic 3D plasma demo though, which is supposed to be superior due to plasma's excellent refresh rate.

3D TV: The future here and now

Panasonic recently launched in its latest TV lineup, with the Viera full high definition 3D TVs and a complete 3D theater system taking center stage.

The Panasonic full HD 3D TV promises to deliver the exact power and realism seen in 3D cinemas to viewers’ homes.

“It uses the frame sequential technology that enables full HD quality image information to reach both left and right eyes,” company officials say.

Panasonic claims this technology is better than the two other typical 3D technologies--the line-by-line and checkered sampling methods.

With frame sequential technology, separate 3D images for the left and right eyes are alternately played back at a high speed of 60 frames per second for a total of 120 frames.

But to fully enjoy the Panasonic 3D experience, special eyewear also from Panasonic should be worn.

The Panasonic full HD Plasma 3D television comes in display sizes of 50 inches and 65 inches.

It boasts of quality image with its infinite black pro feature and a dynamic contrast of 5,000,000:1 ; 600Hz sub-field drive; moving picture resolution 1080 lines; THX certified display; a 24p smooth film and resolution enhance.

Not only is high image quality ensured, the complete new TV lineup also promises high performance in terms of connectivity, eco features and design.

For one, the new lineup furthers the shift of the TV technology from “units that people watch to TVs that people use.”

It has Viera cast with Skype, DLNA, Viera image viewer for photos and videos, the Viera link, USB terminals for wireless LAN adaptor and USB keyboard, Viera tools, game mode and PC input.

It is more environment-friendly and energy efficient with its mercury- and lead-free panel, long panel life of up to 100,000 hours and its eco mode.

Panasonic promises at least 35-percent savings in energy consumption with the new models.

.Panasonic officials said they have yet to come up with the suggested retail price for the 3D television for the local market but in the United States, the 50-inch TC-P50VT20 plasma set was retailed for $2499 or $2890 for units in a package with a Blu-ray player and a pair of 3D glasses.

A Panasonic 3D TV comes with one free special eyewear. An extra one will cost P6,000 each.

It's cool but meron nang on-screen 3D (no more 3D eyewear) ang sharp.

Best to wait for the technology to mature for better prices and specs.

Teka...bakit kelangan ng 5? 1:1 ba ang pag-gamit sa 3D TV? Di ba puwede manood buong pamilya ng sabay sa isang unit lang?

He probably meant that each viewer would need a 3D glass in order to view the 3D capable TV/program. So if one has 5 people watching a 3D program on the TV simultaneously, each of them will be needing a pair of 3D glasses. Considering how a pair 3D glass cost, this might turn out to be a costly proposition.

Too much hassle wearing 3D glasses just watching regular tv broadcast like news, etc. What if you have house guests and you don't have extra pair of glasses? That's a bummer. IMHO this technology is still young and is not ready yet for mainstream use.

The inconvenience of wearing and having multiple 3D glasses around aside, this technology could go mainstream bec. over time the TV manufacturers will be selling it for about same price or maybe even lower than prices of regular LCD today. But it going mainstream does not necessarily mean the technology behind is great or worth raving about.

Lets wait for the 3D technology which does not require the inconvenience of a 3D glass.

Typically each 3D LCD TV set will include two 3D glasses. So you just have to buy the extras you would need beyond two.

    +1 - it's a chicken-and-egg sort of thing.

Also, at the price level it commands, it seems like a pointless novelty for now. Let the cinemas offer it.

Hasn't stopped NVIDIA from offering the same tech to gamers though.
