    Looked at http://www.superbrightleds.com/

And I think I need one or two super bright LED's for my next project.

The LED will be USB powered.

Anyone familiar where I can get these LED's locally. They really need to be small as thew will go into a confined space (scope base about the size of a softdrink straw).

    Thank you.

e-gizmo near DLSU taft should have it although a bit pricey. alexan and deeco is much cheaper if they have what you need.

I also want to buy a lot of these super bright LEDs. Red para pang rear fog lamp. DIY tapos naka aim sa muka ng driver sa likod. para duon sa mga hindi alam na may dim pala ang car nila. :D

    Wala lang.

I haven't seen these lights personaly. I really can't tell if they are bright lights.

but they are called laser leds or ultra bright leds. I don't know if they have other colors...

they are available on pc reform and techonsite. costs 370 more or less. 12volts though. yung sa usb 7 volts lang ata.

USB powered? Do note that these ports are only rated for 500mA * 5V. You could get up to 1A if you combine 2 USB ports. Just be mindful of the polarity.

Yes. I'd guess, 5 or 6 of those. But don't quote me on that.

Anyway, I'm not sure about your specific application, like, how much lumens do you need for illumination? The LEDs I have in mind are hi-powered ones that requires current in the neighborhood of 700-1,000 mA (2 watts and up).

Not sure about the lumens. The LED will fire into a rigid fiberoptic endoscope (Storz/Hopkins). So I guess the light has to travel the distance of the scope and be able to illuminate the area the scope sees into.

We are currently working on a video monitor system that records onto a laptop and since there is a USB socket already, I'm thinking of exploiting it as a power source for the scope light.

The LED light will be at the end of the hose like thing that enters near the bottom of the eyepiece

^ If that's the case, the LEDs in the link you provided probably won't cut it. You should consider a Luxeon LED. Too much light to start with (but dimable) is better than insufficient light.

Is this what you have in mind?

I think these cameras are light sensitive. but I'm not sure if the leds I provided is enough to go with the fiber.

We have that ENTity unit. Cost as much as a used car.

That's the flexible version. We need a rigid one (as on the pic).

I just tested my playstation optic cable with a led flashlight. despite being small, it delivers the same amount of light from the small source it came from.

I think usb led is enough. (cross fingers)

eto a usb led light: * 200pesos. though I have no idea how small is a 3mm and 5mm. lol

LED lights are also shatter proof and free from Mercury, making them much safer for home and the environment.

Where to buy super bright 3mm or 5mm LEDs locally?
