high end mobo with onboard video

hi peeps,

Here's hoping someone can help us out. The company is looking for a mobo with the ff features:

1.) Core 2 Duo/Quad Core support
2.) 4 memory slots
3.) supports total memory of 8gb or more
4.) 4 or more SATA ports
5.) onboard video

There are a lot of high end mobos out there, but all of them tend *not* to have onboard video -- which means we need to shell out an additional 1 - 1.5k for the PCI-Express video card. Since these boards will be used as servers, i really don't see the point of getting a 128/256mb PCI-Express card -- heck, we can surviveon 8Mb PCI-Express video cards if someone would make them.

We've plum run out of PCI video cards, and i'm not really keen on buying second hand stuff, particularly electronics and computer stuff.

Intel seems to be the only one making high end mobos with onboard video, but it seems all the newer models don't have the PS/2 and mouse ports any more. We'd prefer ones that have the standard ps2/mouse ports.

You can try looking at XFX gaming motherboards. These support dual-core or core duo CPUs and have onboard Nvidia 7050 or similar video card (share memory). It also has PS2 kb/mouse ports. The model I got didn't have any serial nor parallel ports but had four USB ports at the back plus a couple more onboard for the front. I don't remember the number of memory slots nor SATA ports it had though.

I have bought one and using it in the office which is handy for doing photoshop work.

Just just checked my mobo... it has two memory slots (4gb max) and 4 SATA ports.

XFX nForce 610i with geforce 7050.

high end would be Gigabyte.

but the only Gigabyte intel compatible board with decent videocard built-in is the one with 9400M chip.

I suggest checking out Tyan motherboards (http://www.tyan.com).

They have motherboards from Intel Xeon to Core2 CPUs. I think they also have models for 1U systems and for tower systems as well.

A few years back, our company were able to purchase 2 boards. So far, we have never had issues with them. We're running them 24/7 for about 6 years already.

I think PC trends carry this brand.

why the heck would you go for high end mobos pa kung 8mb lang na video memory eh swak ka na? just go for any ordinary na mobos that supports the processor at 4 slots na kelangan mo. meron asus yata yun or msi with 8 slots, forgot ano limit nung memory pero ang naaalala ko lagpas 5gb+ ang max nun (baka nga 8gb+ eh). just settle for something lower na lang wag na masyado high end since server lang naman pala e unless it should run too many graphical or graphics-related na programs.
something lower na may vga/dvi slot kasi for sure meron yun temporary graphics driver din siguro nga mga 32-64mb pa yun e. yun nga lang hindi siya advisable sa majority ng games dahil onboard yun na mababa pero it could run some minor games naman (aside pa dun sa bundled games ng microsoft like nung pinball at solitaire). eh since server lang sa tingin ko solve ka na dun
BTW, meron ako dati (my first ever hard-earned pc) P4 1.8ghz tapos board ko ecs. mga sobrang luma na yun by now pero dahil la pa akong pambili Vcard dati, onboard gamit ko na 32mb lang. savage pro s3. nakakapag macromedia flash 6 pa ko noon dati ng matino

Sounds similar to our servers. It runs Linux and needs VMWare to run software on our Windows clients.
