I didn't even realize Google Earth has a 3D mode. It doesn't do much for residential areas yet. Still flat like a pancake:

But for terrain features like Mt. Pinatubo, it does ok. It obviously needs work just by looking at the water. But overall, it's pretty good.

Even though it's flat here, RFC Mall looks quite good. Last I remembered it, it wasn't a mall yet and the road was only 2 lanes.

Using Google Sketchup (free), you can create your own 3D model (e.g. your house) and then upload it to Google Earth. I've yet to try it though... I'm still learning Sketchup.

A lot of prominent builidings in N.Y. (my dad loves playing there... we used to live there...) are already fully 3D. But I never knew about the terrain feature till I saw this. Is it an update to the regular Google Earth app?

It's only a matter of time before G.E. becomes accurate enough to live in... imagine a G.E. MMORPG...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Sadly bro, RFC, like all other establishments, is becoming one of the victims of the SM onslaught......

Oh well. That's progress. RFC should've remained a mere supermarket like I last remembered it as.

The blue-roofed building across RFC I remembered last as a theater with Shakeys Pizza and a bowling alley. What is it now?

    Some observations......

    1. After all these years, Phase 1 of Dona Manuela Subdivision still isn't full of houses. There's still plenty of vacant lots, esp by the mayor's house.

    2. All that area across RFC used to be vacant. Now, it's completely full. Wow...... looks pretty crowded.

Medyo OT, but I hope this feature gets included on Google Earth. It's Google Maps' Street View.

Any road on Google Maps that's outlined in blue has the Street View feature. It allows you to place the Street View icon anywhere along that road and have a street-level view from that point. It can be zoomed and panned left and right, up or down, move forward, backward ... it's like being there driving along that road.

Unfortunately, it's only for selected roads (US-only, I think).
Haay ... kailan kaya magkakaroon sa ibang lugar?

Blue Roof Building,- you're accurate in your recollection. We used to bowl there and eat at Shakey's. It was a hip place to be seen in town then...

Now, it's a big hardware store. Forgot the name, but something like a Home Depot. Comes with ChowKing Restaurant and Goldilocks fronting Alabang-Zapote Road. Along Manuela Avenue are shops like MiniStop (Japanese version of 7-11), Han's Dental Clinic (good family friend), an internet cafe, and other small establishments. At the back of this building is a pet shop and the back of the hardware store. Second floor of the building contains a pub/cafe with billiards.

    1. It still is, but houses are aplenty compared to those years....
    2. There's Zafra, fronting Zapote-Alabang Road and across RFC, with some more establishments and be*rhouses....
