no truth to that. If you cellphone is on but no signal, your unit will try to look for a signal automatically (if set on auto), (if set on manual)it will ask for you to do network search. But if network selection is on automatic and the unit still doesn't receive signal for a certain time, then your cellphone will be on a sleep mode. In order to get a signal again, either you do manual selection of network or off and on the unit.

IMO, it won't do any harm to your phone.

with regards to signals, of all places in our house, room ko lang talaga kasi walang signal. kainis nga lang pag nilalabas ko phone ko sa room, dun lang pumapasok yung text. minsan ung iba hindi na talaga dumadating.

but still, hindi pa rin sira phone ko after 4 years.

depends, since your celfone is not receiving anything when there is no signal, your battery will last longer. If it lasts three days normal, it might last 4 days since none of the ringtones and vibrate modes is being used during that time.
