How old is the oldest part of your computer?

What is the oldest part of your computer and how old is it?

12 years. My old Pentium-200Mhz (Win98SE, 64MB memory, 4GBHDD, S3 Virge, Canopus 6MB 3DCard, 32-bit Aureal Vortex sound card) is still in good running condition. I use it from time to time.

For me, my current PC is an Athlon XP 2100+ but it still has the 1.44mb floppy drive from my Pentium 133mhz computer. I think it's around 8 to 9 years old.

A friend of mine still has an old Intel 486 DX4 that is still in running condition. Ayaw nyang i-dispose kase sayang daw. :bwahaha:

forgot to mention pala yung base ng 486dx4-100 namin. basag na yung LCD, so i just use a desktop monitor.

i use it to play x-com, mechwarrior...and some hentai games. LOL!

I used to have an Apple II compatible computer with 80/40 column switchable display and a first generation sound card. I sold it a few years ago to my cousin who was interested in collecting such items.

Wow! That's the first computer I've ever used to learn computer programming. Brings back a lot of memories.

for me, the computer where I first learned programing was a Radio Shack TSR-80 computer.

pangsariling gamit ko na monitor dito sa shop is Acer Aspire 34TLs...1997 pa ata ito...its cpu is still working pero di ko na ginagamit...di ko maisip na nabili namin ito ng 80k noon...for the same price eh ang taas na ng specs ng clone pc na pwede mong i set up ngayon

ung full tower casing. got it as a set with my Pentium II setup. dumaan sa Pentium III, Celeron, then my current P4. it still bears the "Intel Inside" stickers of each CPU it has housed B)

stopped using it a few months ago since the HDD was attacked by ants..

still thinking of replacing the HDD so my nephews/neice can use it. other parts are still ok, cept for the monitor which i have to whack to lose the green tint.

Reminds me of my first CDROM drive. It was a creative labs 2x cdrom with "cd caddy" (not tray loaded) and it required to be connected to the included creative labs sound card and cdrom interface card.

You can buy a used HDD to minimize costs. 20gig HDDs are pretty cheap if you check out some of the online sites. 15 to 17inch monitors too.

Last I checked, 20gig seagate HDDs were P1,000 (neg) each.

In our current desktop PC (A64), the oldest part are the speakers: Altec Lansing ATP5 (4.1 channel). I guess it is around 5 years old already.

Though I still have other retaso parts lying around the house... like an vid cards, memory, floppy drives, busted monitor, etc. I've already parted ways with some of the older but still usable components like the CPU (Pentium MMX 200).

My dad is still using our old pc daily, p3-500mhz, asus p3b-f, 28.5gb hdd, xwave 3000 sound card - all working since november 1999. The altec lansing 45.1 speakers I use on my desktop.

I would suggest for the hard drive buy a new one with 2 year warranty 40gb - 2.2k.
