Change SIM (from regular to micro/nano SIM)

Hello guys,

mayroon na ba sa inyo ang nakaexperience na magpalit ng SIM, from regular to micro (or the one that has multi-cut) SIM?

I just had it at Globe business center sa SM Manila. after that transaction (after a few hours), nawala yung signal ng regular SIM at dapat active na yung bagong SIM na binigay sa akin..(BTW, I retained my old number)...but up to now, I am having problems kasi hindi pa maayos yung new SIM. tumawag na ako sa CS hotline, pero ang sabi, ini-escalate nila sa technical support.

Prepaid or Postpaid? Kung postpaid ka sabihin mo ipapa putol mo line mo.kapag di pa naayos within an hour. Ginawa ko yan sa wimax ko noon, ambilis naayos. Tumawag pa sa akin technical team nila

prepaid siya. I decided to have my prepaid SIM converted to micro SIM is when I recall one time na mayroon akong ka-meet-up sa isang seller ng jellycase ng Lumia 625 ko (Lumias/WP accessories are hard to find BTW) and told me na bago kami magkita, siya ay galing sa Globe Center sa Lucky Chinatown Mall to have his SIM card replaced as well.

BTW, yung isa kong SIM na regular one is active pa rin at may signal, samantalang yung replacement SIM, wala pa ring signal. kailangan ko pang maghitay ng ilang araw since holiday mode pa ngayon.

Just wondering, bakit di mo na lang pina cut sa labas? For only 50 kesos no waiting time sa Globe biz center and walang hassle, you still get to retain the housing naman...

I had my sim replaced the other day, upgrade to LTE, 30 minutes waiting time, plus 20 mins transaction time, hassle, but only they could do it. New sim was active upon issue.

Yes, tama ito.

Yung isang sim card ko na ginawang micro-sim sa tabi-tabi, bigla na lang nag international text to the U.K. after getting cut.

Eh wala naman akong text-mate overseas, at ang tagal-tagal na sa akin ng number na iyon hindi nagloloko kailanman, nun na lang pina-cut ko sa tabi-tabi.

it's too risky if I will just cut the regular SIM into a micro SIM doon sa tabi tabi. (or to retailers).

I might go to other Globe center to fix it (and even upgrade to LTE)

Nag uupgrade ba sila ng LTE nano sim for pre paid. Up until now, lahat ng globe biz center from MOA to Festival Mall Alabang, walang stock for replacement of my old 3G nano sim to LTE. Unlike to postpaid ni miss, within 30 mins napalitan.

I've been trying to get my nano sim replaced since May this year. Checked again last week, same reply. So I guess ayaw nilang magpalit pag prepaid

Antay ka lang muna at follow up. Pag natapos na yung duration na binigay sayo, mag sabi ka na lang na papaputol mo na linya mo na may kasamang galit para ipriority ka. Maayos agad yan

hindi na siguro.
as far as the company is concerned, pinatay na yung number na yon.
if you get billed afterward, you can always point an accusing finger at the company for allowing it, as that account has already been closed.
but they do re-cycle old, long un-used sim numbers (siguro those with no negative history), but under new owners' names.
the poor guy who was assigned one such re-cycled number.. na-iinis na siya, sa dami ng tawag asking for the old owner... heh heh.

update: after no reply from *talk2Globe twitter account (due to replaced SIM not activated when I approached the Globe Center in SM Manila), I decided to go to Globe center in Lucky Chinatown Mall. Unfortunately, wala silang LTE replacement SIM (dual cut) but I proceeded anyway to replace my old SIM to dual cut 3G SIM. I surrendered my old SIM and after a few minutes, OK na yung replacement SIM ko. yung load ko is still intact, pero yung contacts ko from the old SIM was not transferred to the new one. buti na lang nakasave sa isa kong phone yung contacts ko (which I will enter manually, unfortunately).

How about my smart sim. Incominh messages and calls are okay. May load pa ako. Pero di ako maka send or tawag. Sa sim kaya? Yung globe ko okay naman eh
