    hello guys,

im wondering bakit bawal ang cellphone sa banks at ibang places like sa loob ng meralco. yesterday i paid some bills at eto ang napansin ko. sa banks alam ko nang ganun, pero pati pala sa meralco bawal gumamit ng cell?

what's the fuzz about using your phone inside their premises?

ginagamit kasi yan nang mga holdapper.. you can call someone from the outside then tell them what's happening inside.. kung bukas yung vault, etc.

kahapon lang uli ako nagbayad directly. last time naman thru ATM. at most of the time, hindi naman ako ang nagbabayad, ibang tao.

Most probably is for security reasons - with the technology of cellphones today bearing videos, they could sketch a plan of the inside of an establishment.

Alam ko meron tayong tsikoteers who works on a bank . . . let's wait for their replies.

bank robbers usually send reconnaissance units before they attack. with the advent of technology, mobile phones have been used to record bank interiors, tip off the robbers how many guards and where stationed are in the area.

it's also for the safety of the depositor, since a lot of business owners mass withdraw money for payroll, etc. etc.

Malaki din kasi ang cash na hinahawakan nila eh, which also makes them vulnerable.

that's also a place where you would see kung sino ang may dalang pera. what they do is tambay lang sa mga ganyang places (payment centers ng Meralco, pldt, etc) and survey who's got money. then itimbre na sa labas na kasama nila via txt messages. then it would either be snatch or holdup.

Usually with MERALCO, if you pass your due date, you can no longer pay at ATMs, online, or at the bank and you will have to pay at the nearest MERALCO office near you.

This being the case, I had to do this a few time and there are a lot of people there which translates to a lot of cash!

So having your mobile on in these premises will pretty much be like having it open in the bank.

But then again, it depends on the rent-a-cop on duty if he's going to act like an a-hole or not.

actually, not just in banks or in Meralco, although i have not experienced paying in Meralco dahil ATM ako nagbabayad.

i have also experienced na nasita ako ng guard while paying my insurance premium sa Sunlife Customer Services Center dito sa may Paseo de Roxas.
