I was able to go to the site ng MUDSPRING at UPLB campus this sunday morning...
It was around 6:30am...medyo madilim pa sa area so I wasn't able to get pictures....instamatic lang kasi.
It is more of a "rough-roading" and not off-roading kasi there use to be a road duon but nasira na through time...the "roads" are mostly uphill and rocky. Although the roads now a not oftenly traverse na.
The total distance should be around 4km from the entry point (College of Forestry) but I manage to reach only around 2.8km way up and had to turn back kasi my 4x2 couldn't manage the climb in that section.
The road was rocky and the rocks were slippery due to hamog siguro plus putik-putik na ung tires ko (na hindi naman all terrain class). My frontier was slipping and dahil mag-isa lang ako I did not dare to further climb at baka maaberya ako ng hindi handa.
I would say that the area would be on the less than level one specs....not too exciting for most of you....kasi halos kaya naman ito ng 4x2 lang....except dun sa slippery rocky roads....hindi ko kayang bumuelta kasi the road is not good baka sumayad ako....plus it was about a 30-40 degrees climb angle.
I would say that a bigger tires na 4x2 could manage it to the area near mudsprings (14" tires lang ung ride ko) - the whole 4km distance.
Overall, with the background of the dense forrest....its a good offroading picture taking scene. As for the off-roading part.... its easy level.
My two cents.
PS. Should you want to visit it...I suggest you bring company with you....it's kinda eerie in the area specially if its that early. Although nung pababa na ako I encountered mountain bikers and some foreign nationals hiking their way up.
