Mga 4x4 Gurus,
Ok lang po bang mag-shift to 4H (part-time 4WD) on roads that are wet, drenched or binaha like in the current diesel pick-ups? :?

Mike2,
para sakin no need if you are on concrete/asphalt pavement.Originally Posted by Mike2

Mike2, it depends on your 4WD system. AFAIK Kung meron kang center diff, in general, pwede. Kung wala kasi or pag locked, its possible that wet roads will not provide enough slip. Therefore, pwede kang maka experience ng binding.
It is not advisable to shift into 4H or 4L on pavements. 4WD grips better on loose grounds. And concrete pavements will just break the whole 4WD system of your rig.
pajerokid::: Whaaaa... 4WD of Pajeros does have its functions. Iba kasi ang 4H nyo, not like our ride 4H is the same as your 4HLc. :D
what abt rough roads??
tipong lubak lubak na parang mini-moon craters.
d ba dapat 4H dun?
Imo, kung kaya naman ng 2H mo, no need to shift it to 4H.
Para sakin primary use ng 4H is for slippery roads. Iba ang kapit ng 4H sa wet highways!
I envy Pajeros becuase they can do that to their transfer gears. Guess I coundn't have the best of both worlds. :POriginally Posted by pajerokid
so sa wet hi-ways (concrete pavement)..
tuwing kelan ginagamit ung diff lock??
haayyy..
Sama kayo on the 29th! This will be fun!
Diff locks can only be used if 4WD traction cannot be attained. Wheel spin on all 4 wheels, activate the diff lock and for sure your traction will be achieved.
im really lookin forward to that date...
d kasi natuloy yung paglalaro sa lahar last weekend e..
For my toyota tacoma, i usually shift to 4H when its raining hard that is on hard surface, i have the automatic disconnecting differential (ADD) so i can shift to 4H even my truck is running below 55 MPH or 80 KMH. i dont use my differential lock on hard surface because of unstable jerky movement and might damage the rear differential, when we play in the mud and sometimes we got stuck in the then that's the only time that i use my differential lock.
thanks a lot and have a great day
peace out ya all
