    The Ultimate ORV List

The following is a list of Off Road Vehicles (ORVs as opposed to SUVs). These are vehicles that, in my opinion, were designed with the off-road enthusiast in mind. This doesn't mean that some poseurs won't try to turn these into urban transportation, or that there aren't other worthy ORV contenders. This is simply a list of vehicles more likely found in the woods rather than at your local mall.
In no particular order, they are:

    1. 77 and older Ford Bronco
    2. International Scout (production stopped in ‘80)
    3. 86 and older Jeep CJ series. (I know the Wrangler can make a great ORV, but too many Ken&Barbie types drive them as well)
    4. AM General HMMWV
    5. ARO (can be bought new)
    6. Land Rover Defender 90 and its ancestors.
    7. Mercedes Gelaendewagen and Unimog
    8. '90 and older (60 series and before) Toyota Land Cruiser (‘91+ (Series 80)models are evidently very capable ORVs, but are too often driven by poseurs and never used off road.)
    9. '84-'89 Toyota 4Runner (unlike the '90+ models, these 4Runners were NOT available in 2wd!)
    10. Nissan Patrol

actually, pag binasa niyo ng mabuti ang 1st post, sinabi dun "This is simply a list of vehicles more likely found in the woods rather than at your local mall."

sa 1st REPLY: Range Rover dami na rin kasing bumubili na hindi naman offroaders, so poseurs ang drivers/owners, so not an ORV: very capable, but nakikita mo madalas sa malls daw but I think what he means by ORV ay yung hardcore off road vehicle.

3rd REPLY: I agree, Samurai is an ORV, but a Vitara... konti lang tayong naka-Vitara na talagang ino-offorad ang sasakyan natin. BUT VERY VERY VERY CAPABLE ang Vitara, don't get me wrong.

4th, 5th, 6th REPLIES: the Strada is very capable but from what I know, medyo limited ang mods na magagawa mo dito, so hindi ganun ka-popular sa mga hardcore offroaders. RAV4 & Escape naman the lack of low range gearing, and sa mall.

sorry sa mga na-offend, pero nakalagay nga naman sa article, "these vehicles were designed with the offroad enthusiast in mind."

uhmmm... also no offense ha. and did I make any new enemies? hope not.

    peace!

there was this unimog once in action sa cebu nung may race doon, it did not enter it was just brought there by the owner to test it on some parts of the tracks but did not abuse it, takot siguro masira.

here may mga old model unimogs that is made into a tow truck for trucks in one sugar central.

Kawasaki dirt bike? :D Eto lang yung ginamit namin sa farm sa Guimaras dati dahil walang 4x4...

Although i'm not that knowledgeable in 4x4's, my choices are:
    - Land Rover Defenders
    - Toyota Land Cruisers
    - Nissan Patrol
    - Military Jeeps (Hummer, Willys, Mitsubishi, etc...)

How about the Phil market Honda CR-V (and all our local new SUV's)? :? d*mn taxes...
