These pics are a sample from the November 12, 2006 Track Day. Haven't had time to put them up since then.

    http://www.fordclubph.com/v3/article2.php - Article here...

    Some Pics:

I sat waiting at Petron SLEX for quite a while before we left for the BRC. Lots of clubs meeting there. Met the European Car Club, saw a bunch of superbike boys, and the Hyundai Tucson Club (very strong participation!) there, all before 8 am.

Some people have the strangest sense of humor. A Hilux Surf is just about the worst vehicle to take on track. But I can empathize, I've tried drifting a Fortuner.

Honda City 1.5 VTEC. Sad to say, compared to the Jazz, I'm not impressed.

Grupotoyota... IDOL! Seriously, he was the only guy besides the M3 who was as fast or faster than me in the wet... (the spin shows how committed he was) and the M3 doesn't count, just not a fair comparison.

I don't know if you can see it in this photo, but there's a babe in the front passenger seat, and a cameraman in the back. VIP-style, baby.

Although we were running late, everyone got to run in the afternoon sessions. Too bad I was too tired to run in the afternoon dry with my own ride.

We did one orientation run behind the instructor before the slalom. Later participants were a bit wiser than I was. They purposely stayed very far behind the instructor so they could run the slalom at full speed on their orientation run. Sneaky, and effective.

The Focus may not be the fastest street car I've ever driven, but the handling is awesome... and the brakes are unbelievably good for their modest size.

I love driving that car. Maybe I can get in the next Top Driver Challenge... I hope. Family obligations kept me from continuing to the latter stages last time I joined.

I love driving this one, too. I'd love to have that black one even more...

    Yes... I'm serious.

    Countdown. Totally psyched.

Idol... ulit! He's one of the two guys who was faster than me on the day. Want to know how hard we were driving? That black stuff on his wheels is brake dust. Me, I was driving so hard I cracked my brake pads (shocking, especially considering it was a wet session, where brake temps shouldn't get so high)... He had more power (160hp 4AGE, full IHE (est 175) versus 142hp FSDE, IH only (152 on dyno)), less weight (about 960-1000 kgs, maybe, versus my 1235 kg) and a modified suspension. He kept pulling from me on the straights, but I could beat him in the corners.

Well, at first I couldn't, but when I finally said: "f*ck it, I'm not letting him get away from me..." I started catching up.

There was a third guy who would've posted a better time, but he hit a cone on what seemed to me to be the best run of the day...

Taga-Grupotoyota din. He was also quick with his own car, but his suspension came loose during the wet session while he was tailing me (first time sa BRC... he said he was watching my lines... oops... flattered naman ako!)... sayang, on both counts. Autocrosser siya, and his experience showed... during his slalom run, he was running flatter lines than I did during my run... and I was running so flat, I actually thought I'd knocked a few over. I lost about a second on the last cone because it was very tight, and I went in too hot and understeered out of it. He got through it faster, but managed to nudge it, losing five seconds as a penalty.

Third place... not bad. Three cases of Red Horse. Much better prize than an electric drill (2nd) or an Oakley bag (1st). Of course, being diabetic, I don't drink. Bummer.

Kudos to the boys from Revtech/Nissanbayan who were there... as well as the boys from Grupotoyota (I'll get you guys next time, I swear... :hysterical: )... we sorely missed ProtegeTech that day, but then, they had another trackday scheduled for the next week. Sana sama-sama tayong lahat sa susunod.

if that guy in the m3 was serious about tracking that thing, he'd lose the entourage and the heavy hamann wheels. i bet you experienced racers were laughing at him... :hihihi:

    Nice shots by the way.

Did the guy in the M3 actually raced his car with those Hamann rims??

    RE: M3 with Hamann rims:

-I'll admit, the rims were a bit much, but they had proper tires on them (Pilot Sport 2s, I believe) and not "comfort" tires.

-The entourage was only there for the warm-up sessions in the morning. Solo siya during the track sessions.

-I guess we'd have been laughing at him if he wasn't lapping so fast and kicking our asses so badly. And although the wheels were too large to take seriously, he did have an open exhaust (we had to stop the orientation for three minutes because he came in late, and we couldn't hear JP's voice over the racket... ).

-Also, he hooked onto my tail in the infield... now I had Advan Neovas (much better tires), and I was pushing 8/10ths (cold tires, wet track), and he was just loitering there... the bastard... then he ripped past me and lapped everyone on track. Only two guys passed me that day. He was one of them. I can accept losing to another guy on the straights (slow car, mine), but to have someone showing me up in the corners...

-And this was wet. The only other big ticket was the Silvia, and that guy was just pussy-footing around, because wet track plus rear wheel drive plus ultra-wide rear tires equals trouble.

-And, though I thought him a show-off, he actually gained my respect by winning the slaloms. Of course, he was still utterly "yabang"... gusto pa niya, siya yung sasakay sa "instructor's" seat sa slalom run ng GF niya. Funny guy. I hope to see him at the next track day... it's always more fun when there are colorful guys like that around. I want to see if I can actually keep up with that thing in the corners on a dry track.

RE: Beer... sorry boyos... I gave one case to everyone else there... one case to my cousins the next night... and the last case to my sister's barkada because I had it for weeks and couldn't figure out how to get rid of it...

Hehe... next time nalang... pag nanalo ako ulit ng beer, sked kaagad ng EB.

I don't know current prices, but for touring cars, it was around 10k-14k before. You can call them up.

According to http://www.tuasonracing.com/ , they've changed phone numbers:

    (02) 8937049
