it's not intellect per se that corrupts but power

evil is rampant

not doing anything amidst it is greater evil

it's easy to claim you're against corruption

but proving it takes action and actual result

there are small people who have done something about it

there are plenty of unsung heroes - unheard and neglected

where trust and respect isn't inherited

these are earned

power is an opportunity for the few to do something where everybody else would have failed

how else will you deserve another term if you failed to act in that given opportunity

more so on a higher tier of power

gordon may be perceived as arrogant

but at least he isn't idle nor a hypocrite
