I am asking this in the light of the recent suicide of Gen. Reyes.

I am not saying he is not guilty nor is he a good guy. But from what I've read, he has been subjected to some serious humiliation in the senate hearing. And I am pretty sure he was not the only one who experienced that from our "respected" senators.

Personally, I think our legislators especially the senators are themselves abusive of their powers. Some of them use their position to exact revenge under the guise of legislation. They conduct hearings but some of the questions are really just to humiliate the witness and not really relevant to law making. They act like a court of law when in fact they should not. They should be doing this investigations to create or amend laws to improve the system and prevent further wrongdoings.

So the simple question is, how many investigations were already done and how may laws were created/amended as a result of the investigation? Let us say the last 3 administrations.

I mean there is a reason why they're there. Also if you've got nothing to hide kahit pagbalibaligtarin pa nila ang mundo mo, you should be fine. The kahihiyaan only happens when you are guilty and being cornered for all the world to see.

Tsaka for the past 9 years ang daming scandals, lagi nababaril yung whistle blowers o witness. Ngayon baliktad accused na ang tumutupi. I'm not comfortable saying this but, I think Pnoy is doing something right.

Pnoy is in the executive. Senate is a different branch of the government.

Anyway, looks like all of us do not know if these investigations actually has results positive results.

And most of us may actually enjoy hearing all these revelations about corrupt officials without realizing that there should be more than just exposing these corrupt practices in senate hearings.

If our senators want revenge or publicity through the senate hearings, so be it. But at least make the investigations fruitful by crafting laws that will deter corrupt practices.

I don't like Angelo Reyes and what he has done (as exposed in the hearings) pero sa pag aasta nitong si Trillanes, napunta tuloy ang sympatya ng maraming tao kay A.R. Sa tingin ko, kahit na gaano kasama yung tao, on another front, superior pa rin niya dati and he deserved some respect especially from him, a former subordinate (Trillanes).

Let's see if Trillanes can introduce a legislation about reforms in the AFP.

What I meant was dati kasi pag may ganyang scandals alam natin na nasa likod si GMA at minamanipula para walang mangyari, ngayon baka si Pnoy di nakikialam at baka ine encourage pa pero no comment kunwari na ma expose yung mga katiwalian.

This reminds me of a saying...

The enemy of my enemy is... doing something beneficial to me... but he remains my enemy nonetheless.
