I suppose if they sentence you for life, instead of declaring the total years to serve, better to ask this: “kailan ka magse-seventy?” para i-minus namin ang sintensya mo dahil pag dating mo ng 70 eh may mandatory pardon ka. amf hustisya to oh ala wenta talagaisa pa good news to sa mga kriminal na malapit nang mag 70 anyos awowowowo

Grabe talaga!

Hindi naman ganun kabigat kaso niya e. It wasn't "rape" per se, it ws statutory.
AFAIK, it was consensual and involved financing.![]()
so life sentence dito sa pinas is only up to 70yo lang? anong life kaya yun?
i guess pag almost 70 ka na.. you can do whatever you like na. from rape, coup, gov't corruption, and all the grease out there.. "pardon me sir, you can go now" :P

Gonzalez: Jalosjos Won't be Freed Yet
Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez clarified that convicted child rapist Romeo Jalosjos was not released from the New Bilibid Prisons on Sunday.
In a dzMM interview, Gonzalez said that there was no directive from his office ordering the release of the former Zamboanga del Norte congressman.
Around 5 p.m. Sunday, Gonzalez said he suspended the Bureau of Corrections' release order for Jalosjos, saying that officials are still studying the recommendation of former director Vicente Vinarao to release him.
Gonzalez also said that reports of Jalosjos's release were based on the order supposedly scheduled for release Sunday. He said information pertaining to the order was leaked Saturday night. He said the directive was not released.
He also said that President Arroyo only granted Jalosjos a commutation of his sentence, not a pardon.
A report on The Philippine Star on Sunday said Jalosjos, a convicted child rapist, "will be home from Christmas, as he walks out of the New Bilibid Prisons Sunday after serving just over 13 years of his double-life sentence."
Director Ricardo Dapat of the Bureau of Corrections was quoted as saying that he had signed the release papers of Jalosjos, even as Malacañang said the convict may not be freed without the necessary documentation signed by Mrs. Arroyo.
"This type of release applies to Mr. Jalosjos. Upon review of the records section of our office of Jalosjos’ case, it was found out that he can now be released from prison,” Dapat said.
Dapat claimed there is no need to coordinate with the Board of Pardons and Parole, and even with Malacañang, since the former lawmaker has already substantially served his sentence.
Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said there was no document from the Board of Pardons and Parole recommending the early release of Jalosjos.
"There are no papers, no documents," Ermita pointed out.
He said Malacañang does not deal with individual cases when it comes to commutations and pardons because these are all consolidated first before they are presented to the President for approval.
Ermita also pointed out Jalosjos, whose two life sentences were commuted by the President last June, can only be eligible for pardon when he reaches the age of 70. Jalosjos is 67 years old.
The Board of Pardons and Parole had recommended the commutation of Jalosjos’s life sentence to 16 from 22 years.
Malacañang, however, approved commuting the sentence to 16 years.
Malacañang made the announcement to commute the sentence of Jalosjos in June.

When our morally bankrupt government pardoned a
plunderer who, in effect, screwed the entire nation;
whats to stop them from pardoning a rapist who
screwed just one woman?
GMA would pardon the Devil himself and it wouldnt
bother her one bit!![]()
As per 24 Oras, kanina.......
Siya yung bumaril kay Eldon Maguan, a La Salle student, during a traffic altercation. Sentence pala niya, 40 yrs. Pero ngayon, nahingi na siya ng clemency.
Nainggit siguro kay Erap at kay Jalosjos.
No problem.......approved kaagad kay GMA yan.![]()
challenge ko lang, to whoever thought of pardoning jaloslos...have their kids/grandkids spend a couple of nights at his house.![]()
Lakas pa nga ng loob nyang magsabi na "I'll sue the gov't if they don't let me go.."
This is why dami ngayong mga criminal elements na wala ng takot sa batas o pulis.
Time na ata para magsi-labasan na ang mga vigilante groups to deliver their...Dark Justice.
