does this mean the baguio doctors misdiagnosed the illness? Gastritis lang daw. Aortic aneurism is very much unlike gastritis. Ano nga ang gastritis sa tagalog? Kabag?

It's hard to say that the Baguio docs misdiagnosed. Gastritis was indeed their working diagnosis. The Baguio docs could have ordered more definitive tests but FG had chosen to be transported back to Metro Manila where more test were run leading up to the definitive diagnosis of his aneurysm. As the old adage in Medicine goes (and this has been mentioned in almost every medical drama/sitcom on TV): "When you hear hooves, you look for horses not zebras." Which basically means, you start with more common diseases first then work your way from there.

Good luck to him. During my student days, we had a patient with a similar diagnosis. Lumabas lang ako ng hospital sandali, pagbalik ko patay na. The aneurysm blew up. The feeling was a bit surreal because I had just been talking to the patient before I stepped out of the ICU.

Mukhang masamang sign ito sa mga malapit ke GMA. Si Chavit nag crash ang helicopter, tapos si FG may aneurysm. Tsk tsk tsk.

Occam's razor. One should not increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything. (i.e. the simpler the explanation, the better). Unfortunately for FG, it turned out to be not so simple...
