MRT, SAF 44, LTO woes at eto pa Si Manuel Roxas nanaman ang casualty dito

Pero I agree, sustainability ang pinag uusapan dito.

Baka by the time na tayo na ang retirees simot na ang pondo ng SSS.

Or another increase in contributions to sustain.

^...and Binay will gain from this as he'll point out the generous social services doled out in Makati.

Pnoy should've worked closely with Congress on this issue BEFORE it was submitted to his office.

    PR disaster.

Pnoy's intention is good yet it left a bad taste since inabot na ng deadline then he will just veto the bill.

in the past ang daming investments ng SSS nabangkarote/nalugi. balang araw hwag sana manyari ito mismo sa SSS due to mismanagement. keeping my fingers crossed.

Are you referring to our ex-president Asiong Salonga allegedly made a total of $3.xx million in commission brought by companies he brokered, then the sale of stocks owned by Mark Jimenez, Estrada's crony which he bought using from SSS & GSIS pension funds?
IIRC the BW Resources scandal was a scandal during sometime in 1999 where almost put our PSE into collapse by stock manipulation scheme using SSS and GSIS funds. What happened to the case BTW?

Bureacracy salaries is the biggesst culprit. Kasi bonus, perks, allowances, per diem etc nila hindi justifiable. Dami tao kunti ginagawa.

This is true, government is not good in this area, as you've seen in napocor, mwss, lrt/mrt!

wala na ngang PDAF and DAP dahil declared unconstitutional.
kaya they renamed it to the "President's Emergency Fund"

the system can die down in a decade or so IF SSS will not do anything to improve the collection efficiency or introduce new programs.... in short, kung status quo.... pwedeng maubusan ng pondo. yan naman talaga ang trabaho ng mga actuaries....projections, so merong gawin para makaiwas dun sa projections (same as in life insurance companies).

imagine, we contribute. our loans get interests.... and the actual pension are not too high.... imho, my mom only gets 6.8k/month from SSS after contributing for 25 years.

but SSS has a top heavy organization..... kung ang isang VP ay kumukuha ng 300k/month, eh pano kung may 50 VP sila? wala pang bonuses yan.... considering they are a GOCC, dapat they are within the bounds of the salary standardization law.

yes, direct hit on Roxas again. too bad for him.

With all due respect sir, OT but I find it interesting, magkano na kaya present value ng 25 years contribution nya? 6.6k/mo is 81.6k/year. If you take the maximum contribution of 1,760 at present ay 528k lang yun for 25 years. Using this figure, 15%/year ang pension payout.

sorry dude.... not an actuarial so i really do not care about it.
but heck, my mom-in-law who is from GSIS, receives 15k/month. dahil ba sa volume yan? mas maraming private employees vs. government employees?

Bro.,- for government employees,- their pension (GSIS) is equivalent to the average of their monthly salary for their last 3 years of service.... Can somebody from government service confirm this please? I would love to be wrong here.

Now, PNOY endorsing an increase in the salary of government employees,- will have a tsunami effect on the retiring government employees, in terms of their monthly pension (again, average of their last 3 years of service),- and their accumulated unpaid and unused VL, running for years - babayaran lahat iyan with the increased salary...

- a significant portion is tax (real estate, corporate, individual, goods and services, tariffs on importation, ad valorem etc) - we all pay for these one way or the other....
