Numbers are not an excuse not to push through with impeachment. During the Estrada administration, there were only 27 opposition congressmen in the Lower House. Yet they were able to successfuly file the impeachment complaint against Erap, paving the way for the Senate to convene itself as an impeachment court.

it was because of then House Speaker Manny Villar who railroaded the proceedings

To Villar's credit, he also hastened the process for Erap to defend himself via an impeachment court, when the Estrada allies in Congress were dead-set on stalling the proceedings. Hindi lang nga dapat nag-walk out yung prosecution team sa Senado; we would have found out if impeachment was indeed a viable option to remove an incumbent president. Now, Erap's allies are repeating the same delaying tactics at the Sandiganbayan.

To reiterate, Erap should consider himself extremely lucky that he got as far as the impeachment court, a legal opportunity to defend himself. Which is more than can be said for the present opposition that wants not only to railroad, but bypass the entire legal process altogether. And they don't even have a common consensus as to what happens next in case GMA is out of office.

Initially, i don't want her to resign. but with today's collapse of her cabinet, the mounting calls from the MBC,the Liberal Party, and that of Cory's. I believe she has lost the ability to govern, her initiatives would continually be challenged. So looking at the bigger picture, which is the welfare of the nation, she must resign. Either that or declare martial law (I hope not)

if she resigns because or these calls, then she would really be an incompetent leader. past presidents are past presidents. they have no say
in the present govt. nor they have influence over the present people. They
had their time, they had their shot, that's it.

the MBC as the name suggests only protects the interest of its namesake, Makati. I've been in Ortigas all day long, ganun pa din naman just like
any other day amid these events happening on TV.

do you think cory's side is that reliable? isnt she the number one violator of 'land reform program'? how many coup attempts were there during her administration? replacement of president would only mean one thing, bagsak ng peso... in effect, taas gas, taas presyo, taas everything...

I think she should just resign, with all the calls for her resignation, and withdrawal of support from various sectors, she will just become a lame duck president.

but, who would replace her? If we would follow the constitution, VP Noli would replace her.

Do you believe Noli could be a good president?

Nope, I don't think Noli would make a good president. Personally, I don't like what's happening, to have two succesive presidents not finishing both their terms does not bode well for our country. Investors would shy away from our country like we have the plague.
Right now, our country's in a bind. I don't see any good coming out of this.

Si FVR, pumapel sa Malacanang. Aniya, GMA's resignation is not the solution. I-reform daw ang gobyerno.

Tuwa daw ni GMA kay Tabako!
