They should just stay on screen. Don't get me wrong though, there are a few who can actually make a difference. but mostly, stay on lang on screen. wala rin naman sila silbe kahit dun eh, at least hindi na manggugulo sa politika. lol
They have the right. But the problem is most of the voters don't look at the qualifications but on the popularity.
i think everybody is free to run for a government position. it is just that the voters doesnt know how to vote. it has been a popularity contest for quite some time now.
IMO, they should stay on the screen.
It's going to be the real world, not their 'reel world'... A whole lot more complicated.....![]()
:starwars:
i wonder. does the common tao vote for their perceived "characters" i.e. on-screen persona? if that is the case arent they fictional "characters" in the first place? or do they actually vote for the celebrity as a "person"?
It doesn't matter if the person is showbiz or not. I think what's important is the sincerity and the dedication for public service. Shempre know how na den. But then madami nga jan madudunong pero trapo.
kawawa naman sila lito lapid at bong revilla?
wala na sa starring roles as senators.![]()
Kung para sa kaunlaran ng bayan why not?....so far bulok lahat ang pumasok sa politika...pahinga na lang muna sila.
Ronald Reagan was a great U.S. President and he used to be a moviestar.
Also Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (sp).
But here, people see the actors for thier movie roles not who they actually are.
If we could get past that and the actor/actress is able, then I would accept.
[SIZE=2]huwag na lang sana.they may have the purest intentions in mind but the people prodding them to run Don't.

nasa tao kasi yan, di porke artista, aktibista, militar, komunista, etc. e pwede mo na sabihing matino or kurakot.
pero generally speaking, konti lang ung mga artista na namumuno't lumilingkod ng tapat. so far the only name that comes to mind is vilma santos(pwede rin sonny bono and ronald reagan, pero sa US naman yun).
what concerns me is that celebrities tend to wield great charisma and media power -- powers that they may or maynot truly deserve, powers that may or may not be used in the sincere service of their voters(naks)
IMO, depende rin kasi kong sinong artista. like herbert bautista, artista sya pero nag-aral sya ng pol science at the same time may masteral sya na related sa politics. another thing is kung anong position ang tatakbuhan nila, kung TONGGRESSMAN / SENATONG, dapat may pinagaralan din sila at alam ang batas... :peace: :peace:
mahirap mag generalize/stereotype like the thread topic says.
I AGREE. Thus, the issue is not so much as to prohibit movie stars from running for political/government positions, for they have rights just like everybody else that must be respected, but rather an issue why the electorate are easily hoodwinked and vote for people with dubious competencies, and selfish motives/agenda. Maybe within our own spere of influence we can do something about this.
Depends on the size of their boobies......:spider:

Edit qualification > *![]()
IF they are competent and qualified to become public servants, and they sincerely want to help the constituents they are campaigning to, then by all means they should run for public office. Otherwise, they should just leave politics to the "usual suspects" and spare the public.
