Nag search ako dito ng reproductive health topic, wala pa pala discussion nun dito. Anyway, ano say nyo dito?

    pero why not?

    No to contraceptives...

    Some rumor says its a strategic plan of a multinational company to promote thier product, pay some politicians and others. They are on their way to make money.

    my take on this, it must be passed, surely god will understand as he is the merciful god, right and dealing with so many problem which boils down to poverty deals with so many mouth to feed, so why not limit the mouths to be fed?

    i will check on this but i cannot remember any words stated in the bible that artificial birth control method is prohibited, the roman catholic church stand firm on their option not to push through with artificial contraception as this impeded life which is abortion, but you cannot delete a life in the first place if the union of egg and sperm didnt consumate.

    second take on this artificiality, what if getting pregnant is detrimental to the wife, surely iud, and other methods are and should be practice, the chruch say restrain and refrain, but they ended up with that phase how about respond? respond to the earthly needs of flesh...being a husband and wife its is their obligation to copulate, well propagate perhaps but it is their perks to get an O.

    and if it is detrimental for a wife to get pregnant, artificial means must be practice.

    the church will not turn back and will then point to the youth for premarital ***. My answers to that is *** must be discussed at home and be taught by the parents as early as it is needed, when the parents had imposed a proper values and morals to their kid no amount of evil forces could set in.

    *** education in school, why not, the parents must incorporate and teach their kids the right conduct and right application of ***, it is not just a desire but a love that empowers a human to have the urge to have ***, at the right time and maturity.

    so its yes to reproductive health=)

    2 kids per couple is also good.

    YES to contaceptives. So again, YES to contraceptives.

    Also, for the Catholic Church (as an organization), PLEASE keep your opinions in the pulpit and do away with politics! Also, hindi na panahon ng Kastila, keep in mind that under the law, Church is separated from the State.

    yes to contraceptives. also to 2 child policy. maraming magagalit sa magpa-pass ng bill na 'to but like cutedoc said, maiiintindihan ng Diyos ito...

    but no to abortion bad yun! walang kasalanan ang munting buhay para patayin.

    avoiding the union of egg and the sperm lang ang kailangan at walang pinapatay dun.

    yes to contraceptives. these merely prevent pregnancy to occur, which i think is not destroying lives. destroying lives mean aborting the pregnancy or killing the fertilized egg.

    Subject: october 17 forum
    To:

    Attached herewith is the announcement and program for the October 17, 2009 forum "Reproductive Health Bill, Human ***uality and Family" to be held at ST. MARY'S COLLEGE AUDITORIUM at Mother Ignacia Ave., QC. from 8 am to 2pm.

    During a forum I attended this week, Congressman del Mar from Cebu, one of the pro-life legislators, gave these dates as critical for the debate on RH Bill 5043 : November 9 t0 November 20 and December 1-15. Congressman del Mar appealed for prayers and if possible, warm bodies at the plenary hall during the debate hours which is from 2pm to 9 pm. Anyway, I think the prolife groups may coordinate with the bishops regarding this.

    There is still time to educate the people about the bill, if we do our part. We need to and urgently. Based on our informal survey, which may be unscientific though, 10 out 10 have not read the bill. 10 out of 10 are also unaware of the simple implications of the bill. So, we brought down these points to the following:

    Kung ipasa ang RH Bill 5043,

    2. Alam nyo ba na ang inyong 10-year-old na anak ay tuturuan kung pano gumamit ng condom o ng contraceptive, at, they can have access to these legally?

    Well, 10 out of 10, said "Ganon ba?" This forum is the parish's response to this urgent, urgent need.

    Please note that there has been a change in venue from Janssen Hall in Christ the King Seminary to St.Mary's College Auditorium. It is on the second street parallel to Quezon Avenue and one may turn left at Capitol Medical to get to the place.

    We hope that we can get those in favor of the bill to attend so that they will be enlightened, and hopefully, rethink their position; those who are ignorant of the bill so they become educated and be moved to action and those who are indifferent so that they will make an informed choice : death or life.

    We would appreciate if you could help us pass on this message to others.

    Thank you and God bless to all.

    An urgent invitation to The Youths, The Adults and The Elderlies….

    Sa tingin ko lang,

    dapat ang mga ganyang forum ay ginagawa sa isang lugar na makapagbibigay ang lahat ng panig ukol sa RH bill. duda kasi ako dahil ang mga taong simbahan ang umisponsor nyan kaya maaring maging one sided ang forum na iyan.

    Now, here are some of the pertinent points that the anti-RH crowd seem to ignore or overlook:

    SEC. 12. Mandatory Age-Appropriate Reproductive Health Education. – Recognizing the importance of reproductive health rights in empowering the youth and developing them into responsible adults, Reproductive Health Education in an age-appropriate manner shall be taught by adequately trained teachers starting from Grade 5 up to Fourth Year High School. In order to assure the prior training of teachers on reproductive health, the implementation of Reproductive Health Education shall commence at the start of the school year one year following the effectivity of this Act. The POPCOM, in coordination with the Department of Education, shall formulate the Reproductive Health Education curriculum, which shall be common to both public and private schools and shall include related population and development concepts in addition to the following subjects and standards:

    a. Reproductive health and ***ual rights;

    b. Reproductive health care and services;

    c. Attitudes, beliefs and values on ***ual development, ***ual behavior and ***ual health;

    d. Proscription and hazards of abortion and management of post-abortion complications;

    e. Responsible parenthood.

    f. Use and application of natural and modern family planning methods to promote reproductive health, achieve desired family size and prevent unwanted, unplanned and mistimed pregnancies;

    g. Abstinence before marriage;

    h. Prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS and other, STIs/STDs, prostate cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer and other gynecological disorders;

    i. Responsible ***uality; and

    j. Maternal, peri-natal and post-natal education, care and services.

    In support of the natural, and primary right of parents in the rearing of the youth, the POPCOM shall provide concerned parents with adequate and relevant scientific materials on the age-appropriate topics and manner of teaching reproductive health education to their children.

    In the elementary level, reproductive health education shall focus, among others, on values formation.

    Non-formal education programs shall likewise include the abovementioned reproductive Health Education.
    Note "age-appropriate" and the reinforcement of the value of "abstinence before marriage", as a carry-over from values education that is compulsory in school.

    And note: not all of these subjects will be given to fifth grade children. The act does not fully quantify the curriculum, which may be altered between here and implementation by the Dep.Ed.

    SEC. 16. Ideal Family Size. – The State shall assist couples, parents and individuals to achieve their desired family size within the context of responsible parenthood for sustainable development and encourage them to have two children as the ideal family size. Attaining the ideal family size is neither mandatory nor compulsory. No punitive action shall be imposed on parents having more than two children.
    It's not population control. You can still have as many babies as you want.

    SEC. 17. Employers’ Responsibilities. – Employers shall respect the reproductive health rights of all their workers. Women shall not be discriminated against in the matter of hiring, regularization of employment status or selection for retrenchment.

    All Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) shall provide for the free delivery by the employer of reasonable quantity of reproductive health care services, supplies and devices to all workers, more particularly women workers. In establishments or enterprises where there are no CBAs or where the employees are unorganized, the employer shall have the same obligation.
    Well... there is that... Maybe I can just give them bonuses and tell them they're supposed to spend them on condoms, but I don't care if they don't?

    SEC. 21. Prohibited Acts. – The following acts are prohibited:

    a) Any health care service provider, whether public or private, who shall:

    ...

    3. Refuse to provide reproductive health care services to an abused minor, whose abused condition is certified by the proper official or personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) or to duly DSWD-certified abused pregnant minor on whose case no parental consent is necessary.

    ...

    5. Refuse to extend reproductive health care services and information on account of the patient’s civil status, gender or ***ual orientation, age, religion, personal circumstances, and nature of work; Provided, That all conscientious objections of health care service providers based on religious grounds shall be respected: Provided, further, That the conscientious objector shall immediately refer the person seeking such care and services to another health care service provider within the same facility or one which is conveniently accessible: Provided, finally, That the patient is not in an emergency or serious case as defined in RA 8344 penalizing the refusal of hospitals and medical clinics to administer appropriate initial medical treatment and support in emergency and serious cases.
    You can't be penalized for not performing ligation or offering artificial contraceptives if your religious or moral obligations prevent you from doing so.

    SEC. 21. Prohibited Acts. – The following acts are prohibited:

    e) Any person who maliciously engages in disinformation about the intent or provisions of this Act.
    You are not, prohibited, as a parent, from withholding contraceptives from your child, and are not encouraged to give contraceptives to your child.

    You are only prohibited from not giving contraceptives to employees of legal age, or not giving or prescribing contraceptives as a health care provider... but this can be worked around if it's against your religion.

    And nothing in this bill supersedes or removes the prohibition against underage *** or the encouragement of such.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    WHY BIBLE-BELIEVING, MARRIAGE-LOVING,

    FAMILY-ORIENTED FILIPINOS MUST BE AGAINST THE CONSOLIDATED RH BILL OF THE 15th CONGRESS

    (TO BE KNOWN AS THE RESPONSIBLE PARENTHOOD, REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND POPULATION DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 2011)

    By Bishop REUBEN M. ABANTE, DD

    I have read the Consolidated RH Bill which is to be known as The Responsible Parenthood, Reproductive Health and Population Development Act of 2011.

    It is clear to me that this Bill intends to address the following issues that confront our country and people:

    · Population growth
    · Poverty
    · Maternal death
    · Violence Against Women
    · Child Mortality
    · AIDS and HIV
    · Abortion (along with unwanted pregnancies)

    Among the significant solutions offered by the Bill are:

    Ø The inclusion of Family Planning Supplies as Essential Medicines and which leads to the Procurement & Distribution of the same to the Local Governments and for the Whole Country (Sec 10, 11).

    This clearly refers to the procurement by the National Government of supplies (as condoms, contraceptives and artificial methods) and the distribution of the same to all Filipinos in the whole country.

    The Definition of Terms (Sec 4) of the Bill does not specifically define “Family Planning Supplies” but it does refer to “a full range of safe, legal, affordable, effective and modern methods of limiting and spacing pregnancy” (par. h). The “modern methods” refers to safe, effective and legal methods, whether natural or artificial, that are registered with the Food and Drug Administration or the Department of Health” (par. n)

    Ø The teaching of Reproductive Health and ***uality Education to students starting from Grade Five up to Fourth Year High School both public and private schools, including out-of-school youth and those in the Alternative Learning Systems (Sec 16).

    I am a Christian Filipino. As such, I respect the Bible, the Word of God, and the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines. May I thus cite some references that guide my convictions regarding the matter at hand as a Christian Filipino:

    Ps 127:1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it… (KJV)

    Heb 13:4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (NKJV)

    1 Cor 7:9 but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion. (NKJV)

    Eph 5:31-32 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery… (KJV)

    The Philippine Constitution states:

    Article XV, THE FAMILY

    Section 1. The State recognizes the Filipino family as the foundation of the nation. Accordingly, it shall strengthen its solidarity and actively promote its total development.

    Section 2. Marriage, as an inviolable social institution, is the FOUNDATION OF THE FAMILY and shall be protected by the State.

    The Consolidated RH Bill does not promote nor protect Marriage. What it does promote are “natural and modern methods of family planning that are medically safe and legal” and “medically safe, legal, accessible, affordable and effective services and supplies.” There is no mention in the bill that the authors RECOGNIZE the Constitutional provision that “Marriage is the Foundation of the Family.”

    The fact is, the Bill undermines the Institution of Marriage and endangers the Filipino Family. It subtly brings about a culture that marriage is not needed to have safe and enjoyable *** and even have children. Nowhere in the Bill do the authors uphold the Biblical principle and the Filipino values that marriage is important and that *** should come within the context of marriage! They aim to teach *** education to Grade Five pupils rather than teach marriage as a foundation of the family. They aim to procure contraceptives and condoms and distribute them to everyone without due regard to marriage as an institution.

    Marriage is not simply a church doctrine. It is wrong to say that marriage is a matter of the church. If it is, then mayors, judges and ship captains should not at all perform marriage ceremonies! As it is then, the ministers, mayors, judges and all officials who perform marriages should be equipped to give proper counsel to all who get married and start families, and not just the health care providers mentioned in the Bill.

    Moreover, it is not the teachers or health workers who can best understand the physical well-being of the children – but their own parents. They are the ones who should be taught parenting and be made aware of issues that confront their children instead of putting these responsibility on the teachers and health workers. Let us not infringe upon the sacredness and autonomy of the Filipino family! Instead, let us help Filipino parents build strong families with the right values.

    Joel 1:3, “Tell your children about it, let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. (NKJV)

    This author is convinced that upholding the Constitution by Promoting and Protecting Marriage as an Institution (along with proper counsel) shall address whatever the Consolidated RH Bill intends to address!

    this is one of the reasons why i hate the philippine church, they want you to do what they want instead of convincing you why you should follow them and let you decide for your self. last time i went to church they we're asking everyone to support jun lozada on the nbn/zte deal. i walked out of the mass and told my self i should have never went back, because before that i didn't go to church for 7 years. the only reason why i went to church again was because my wife asked me to go with her.

    also this is one of the reasons why i think religion isn't necessary anymore, it just makes too much confusion. i personally think that our churches is an addition to dragging our country down.

    no offense meant to religious people, this is just my own opinion don't want to start a religious debate.

    Last time I went to mass before the final blessing the priest made us kneel and pray for the rejection of the RH bill. It's not enough that they lie about the RH bill's content, they have to drag the parishioners into prayers that they don't believe in.

    Church resumes dialogue with Malacañang on birth control

    Posted March 30, 2011 15:40:00

    Norman Bordadora

    Philippine Daily Inquirer

    MANILA, Philippines—Catholic Church leaders on Wednesday returned to the dialog with the administration regarding family planning policies, with the country's top prelates meeting with President Benigno Aquino III in Malacañang, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said.

    It was a high-level dialogue between Aquino on one hand and retired Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales and Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines President Nereo Odchimar on the other.

    Lacierda said the meeting was on the invitation of Aquino.

    The spokesperson said the meeting recognized the differences between the administration's policies and the Catholic Church’s tenets but focused on the commonalities between the two sides.

    For instance, Lacierda said, there was a discussion on *** education and what values should be integrated into the program and at what age *** education in school should begin.
